It’s Spotlight Day, where we introduce you to incredible Orlando wedding venues and share the stories behind these companies who help Wedding Venue Map couples have their best wedding day.
Hiring the right wedding venue is so important on your wedding day. The venue is the backdrop of every moment, every picture, and every memory.
It gives us great pleasure to introduce this week’s venue spotlight, Anna Maria Baker of Harmony Haven Event Venue.
When people ask “what do you do?” how do you answer?
I own the Harmony Haven Event Venue. At our venue, we love to help make wedding day dreams come true.
What did you do before you did this?
My husband & I owned a trucking company and I was an office manager.
When and how did you get into the wedding industry?
About six years ago, someone asked us if we had ever considered our building for a wedding venue. It was originally built as a fruit barn in the late 70’s – “The Griffin Fruit Basket.” Barn weddings were becoming very popular, so we went with the idea. We have been “evolving” as a venue over the last five years, remodeling and making improvements for our guests.
What is your favorite thing about what you do? What’s your WHY?
I love meeting people – especially couples who are in love and planning for their special “I Do”. Hospitality is in my blood – I’m Italian and it goes hand in hand.
What motivates you to do this every day?
The joy of celebrations. We do all kinds of events: weddings, receptions, birthdays, anniversaries, corporate events, and any special occasion party.
What is the best compliment you’ve received from your clients?
At the end of an event when I get a great big hug and smile – it makes it all worthwhile. “Thank you for making my dream day come true” is always the exclamation point at the end of the sentence.
How did you decide on the name of your company?
I think celebrations should be “harmonious”: people gathering together and making memories…like notes in a melody. Haven, by definition, is a retreat, shelter, sanctuary, “safe place” so it just came together as “Harmony Haven.”
What is important for clients to know about your company before they book you?
We want each guest to know that when they choose Harmony Haven, that their event is our focus and priority.
What types of events do you specialize in?
We specialize in weddings and receptions, but we host all kinds of special occasion parties as well as corporate and non-profit events.
Why do couples hire you?
I get a lot of feedback that couples fall in love with the venue, but they also fall in love with me.
What is your best piece of advice for brides or grooms?
Always make time to keep the home fires burning. Take time to celebrate each other. Just because you have said “I do” doesn’t mean the romance is over.
What some of their previous couples had to say….
“This is an absolutely amazing venue!!! Anna Marie and her team do all the decorating for you. They make it all so easy and beautiful! They welcome you to add your special touches, but you don’t have to, because it’s already so gorgeous when you walk in. And I love that the ceremony and reception are all in one place so there’s no driving to the next place or renting a car. The most beautiful, comfortable, and romantic place to have your wedding!” – Nancy Carey
“Harmony Haven is amazing. We got married on June 30th, 2018. The staff is awesome. They are always there to help you every step of the way with any questions or suggestions. The venue is well taken care of and kept clean. We didn’t need much decor because the place itself is beautiful. Our wedding was amazing and exceeded all our expectations. Thank you, Harmony Haven, for making our day a very memorable one.” – Sandi Walters
“I can’t say enough wonderful things about HH or the staff. Anna will make your wedding dreams come true! From start to finish she made sure everything I wanted or needed was taken care of. The day of my wedding and went out of her way to make everything perfect. The venue itself is gorgeous inside and out, and the decor she has for you to use will save you a ton of time and money. I can’t recommend HH enough to anyone looking for a place to have their wedding.” – Michelle Wright
