1. What is wedding content creation?
Wedding content creation, especially when using a behind-the-scenes or casual approach, often involves capturing the wedding day using an iPhone or other device. The role of a wedding content creator is to ensure that every “little” moment, those subtle yet meaningful instances, is beautifully documented. This allows the couple to relive and share their special day within just 24 hours. Whether it’s exclusively with friends and family or shared across social media platforms, wedding content creation captures these precious memories and allows them to be shared forever. It also serves as a wonderful resource for recreating reels or following trending styles, adding an extra layer of creativity and excitement to the wedding experience!
2. What’s the difference between a videographer and a content creator?
A content creator specializes in creating short-form videos, often filmed on an iPhone for a casual, authentic feel. With minimal editing involved, content is typically delivered within 24 hours. Depending on the package, clients receive raw, unedited footage along with a set number of edited Reels. This differs from a professional videographer’s approach.
3. Should you mix videography and content creation?
Many brides opt to hire both a content creator and videographer to enjoy a blend of candid, quick content and professionally produced videos, offering the best of both worlds for capturing their special day.
4. How can a client prepare for content creation?
I often advise brides to gather any photos, videos, or Pinterest inspirations that resonate with them and store them in a shared folder. This allows me to gain insight into the style of content they envision, making it easier to align our creative vision as the wedding date approaches.

5. What are some common misconceptions people have about wedding content creation?
A lot of people tend to believe that content creation is only for the social media savvy couple, or couples that want to go viral. 80% of my clients don’t even post on social media and truly just love the idea of having a raw look on their wedding day. They like that they can receive the content so quickly.
A bride recently told me “It’s these small moments that you may not even know about at the time that end up being so meaningful. That’s the beauty of your work! Thank you for capturing these in-between memories that would have been otherwise more easily forgotten.
That’s what content creation is all about, capturing those everlasting memories.
6. How do you approach collaborating with other wedding professionals your content creation efforts?
Content creation is not just for brides, wedding vendors can greatly benefit from working with a content creator which is why I offer packages specifically for vendors. Social media is one of the most important marketing tools for any business, but when you are on-site doing a job the last thing you are thinking as a vendor is to capture it for social media, and that is where a content creator can come in to help. Additionally when doing content for a wedding, if I get approval from the couple, I will always share my content with the wedding vendors for them to use as well.
7. Why should you consider having a content creator at your wedding?
The beauty of content creation is that you receive your content within 24 hours of the wedding. Which allows you to relive your wedding day the next day! It also allows you to see your wedding day from another perspective and get to see and hear things you might not have.
8. What tips do you have for helping brides select a wedding content creator?
Do your research, just like with anything else, you get what you pay for. Wedding content creation is very new, and it’s important that the creator you are working with has experience in weddings and understands how a timeline works, how to collaborate with vendors, and most importantly that you are there to be behind the scenes! Photo and video will always take precedence and it’s imperative to make sure that the work we are doing does not interrupt their shots. This is a business like any other, make sure they carry insurance. Look at their social media pages, if most of their clips are from the same wedding, or of themselves, this means that they may be a little newer to the industry. Look at the kind of content they produce, Just like a videographer different content creators will edit differently and have different styles and you want to make sure to work with someone that aligns with your aesthetic. And always read reviews, as these will give you the best insight into how they work!

9. Can you share a memorable experience or touching moment you’ve captured while working as a wedding content creator?
It’s hard to describe just one because all weddings are unique, however the moment that I would say gets me the most, is the mother/son dance. As a previous mother of the groom, I know the feeling first hand of what that mom is feeling. So those mother/son moments are very emotional for me.
10. How do you maintain a balance between being present to capture moments and remaining unobtrusive during the wedding day?
I maintain a balance by always knowing my surroundings and reading the room. I also maintain constant communication with the other vendors especially photography and videography.
11. Can you share some tips for couples on how to make the most of their wedding content after the big day?
The best way to make the most of wedding day content in my opinion, is to go through the content at your own pace and relive the day. You will still be on a “wedding high” and may be exhausted from the night before, so take your time and review all that was captured first. Favorite the content you like the best and then post them to your socials or send to family.
12. What advice do you have for couples who are hesitant about hiring a content creator for their wedding?
Most content creators have a website or social media that details their cost, packages, and their process. Review that information as it will give good insight as to what they do and if content creation is in your budget. Couples should also schedule an initial consultation call to communicate with the content creator and ask all their questions. During that call, you will be able to determine if you have a connection with that content creator. Due to the amount of time you will spend with your content creator, connection is key!
By reviewing all a content creator’s information and by communicating directly with them to see if their is a connection, couples will be better able to make the best final decision on whether or not hiring a content creator is right for them.
