What makes you or your business stand out and why should a couple hire you?

After over a decade of experience, I've truly learned the importance of really listening to my brides and clients. Bringing to life a bride's dream wedding look is a collaboration. Really listening and knowing the right questions to ask makes ALL the difference in what I do.

What's a fun or unusual fact about you or your company?

Fifth and Eighth Beauty's meaning is important. The numbers 5 and 8 means 'grace' and 'new beginnings'. So when I explain the meaning, I always say, "It's where grace and new beginnings meet." I always try to exude grace in everything I do, and when I started my business it was a new chapter. I was a new mother at the time officially launching my business on my own, and of course when couples are getting married it's most definitely a 'new beginning'.

How did you get started as a wedding pro?

I've loved hair and makeup since I was a little girl. God put love of beauty inside me at a young age. Styling was something I started very young, and going into weddings was just such a natural step as it involves all things hair styling and makeup artistry. It's such a special day in people's lives and I truly love being part of something so meaningful.

Share a piece of advice to reduce stress in the wedding planning process.

I always tell my clients to not sweat the small stuff. Planning weddings is a lot, but remembering the 'why' behind it all is what matters. The love that's being celebrated is what matters most.

What's your favorite wedding tradition and why?

The announcement and kiss of the couple at the end of the ceremony is always my favorite! I remember that moment when I got married, and it's a magical memory and moment for couples.

Tell us more about the couples you usually get the pleasure of working with.

One of the reasons I love weddings so much is I have such a big variety of the people I get to meet. You get to connect with people from all walks of life, different ethnicities, backgrounds etc. but bring it all to the same common thing: marriage. I feel so blessed and have formed so many great relationships with past clients and brides.

What are some of the best compliments you've received from your clients?

That they've never felt more beautiful or confident. Every person should feel their best on their wedding day, and when I know I've been able to give them that, I couldn't ask for a better compliment.
