We love a great double marriage proposal story, don’t you? When we heard both sweet proposal stories we knew that we wanted to feature Briana & Mariah’s double marriage proposal story.
Share with us when and how you met each other.
Mariah: We met in 2020 on good ole bumble.
Briana: An old fashioned bumble love sorry haha. After chatting for a few weeks and sharing some FaceTime dates we met for sushi. Neither one of us actually ate because we were so nervous!
She told me that bringing flowers to a first date was too cliché, and instead brought me a homemade soap. It has now turned into a fun little thing to collect a new soap at any new place that we travel to!
What are your favorite things to do together as a couple?
Mariah: Hang out with family and our dog, get committed to a new Netflix series, try new adventures, go on road trips and travel!
Briana: Adventuring; we love traveling, hiking and making memories in new places! We also love spending time with our family and trying every sushi place we pass.
How long were you together before getting engaged?
2 years!
Share your double marriage proposal stories…
Mariah: I took Bri and our dog on a day trip to Bok Tower Gardens. At the top of the hill is a huge tower that hides a wide over-look behind it. Her family was hiding behind the tower holding wooden signs that I painted to say “Please say yes”. I was so excited and nervous that when I dropped to my knee I couldn’t actually get the words out. Bri smiled and said “of course I’ll marry you!”
Briana: We get to tell two proposal stories! In the beginning of our relationship, we had chatted about if we decided to get married one day, that we would both love to propose to each other. Mariah is obsessed with the water so I knew I had to incorporate that somehow.
I picked Pineapple park on the intercostal in Melbourne as I knew it wouldn’t be too busy and made signs that said, “Will you marry me?” My family and her mom held the signs when we walked up. Of course our dog had to take part in the proposal as well, and had a wedding bandana on. I packed a picnic for us to enjoy afterwards!
Did anyone help with the Bok Tower marriage proposal?
Mariah: Yes family helped make everything perfect!
Did anyone help with the Pineapple Park marriage proposal?
Briana: My mom and sister helped me plan my proposal and make signs! The day of the proposal my parents, sister, brother in law, 7 month old niece and her mom helped pull it off.
What was the best moment of each proposal?
Mariah: The Tower has a system that rings the bells every half hour. I did not plan it this way but at the exact moment I dropped to my knee, the bells started ringing!
Briana: Her saying yes, of course!
Who did you tell that you were engaged first?
Our parents and family!
Tell us about the ring!
Mariah: Bri introduced me to a stone that she loves called moss agate. It’s earthy like us so it’s perfect! Her mom and sister helped me custom design the ring along the way to make sure she would like it! The ring was made in Slovenia because I wanted to make sure she had never seen anything like it while she was browsing her dream ring online over the years.
Briana: I wanted to incorporate moss agate into her engagement ring as well so that they would match. I chose a company called Staghead Designs that I have been following for many years and got a custom ring made. It’s a dark green stone with a gold band.
Briana & Mariah: Being a same sex couple, a few people have come forward about their disagreement with same sex marriage. While this hurts our feelings a lot, it has made us stronger as a couple and allowed us to be true to ourselves and set an example of what true love is. We’re able to see who is honestly supportive of us and put them above others.
Mariah: Calling her my fiancé and planning our future!
Briana: Planning our big day!
If you’ve already decided, when are you getting married and what is your venue?
March 29th, 2023! We are actually having a small ceremony at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs!
We will have a Reception a few weeks later at Up the Creek Farms in Grant-Valkaria Fl.
Why did you choose that venue?
Mariah: We really like the Red Rocks at Garden of Gods and the cooler weather will be good for hiking Utah for our honeymoon.
Briana: I’ve been a wedding planner at Up the Creek Farms for 6 years so it’s only fitting we would have our reception on the stunning property. For the ceremony I’ve dreamed about eloping in the orange rocks of Colorado and Utah for years.
At the ceremony 12 and for the reception about 70.
Saving money!
What’s your wedding style?
Earthy/Boho
Have you selected any other vendors for your wedding?
