It’s Spotlight day, where we introduce you to incredible Orlando wedding vendor Danny Garcia of DJ Danny Garcia and share the stories behind the company.
When people ask “what do you do?” how do you answer?
I’m a DJ that brings HIGH energy and fun entertainment to the big day! I also have photo booths and can supply alcohol and/or bartenders.
What did you do before you did this?
I’ve always been a DJ. I did nightclubs in Downtown Orlando 4-6 nights a week from 2009-2016. I also worked as General Manager at Pat’s Liquor for 6 years.
When and how did you get into the wedding industry?
I just stumbled into it. I started Djing in 2009 in the nightclub industry and started doing weddings in 2016. I really enjoyed it and I worked hard and converted from being a club DJ to a wedding DJ.
What is your favorite thing about what you do? What’s your WHY?
My favorite thing about what I do is being able to create memories with music! I love seeing people dance and sing with big smiles on their faces. I love music and I truly love what I do.
What is the best compliment you’ve received from your clients?
The best compliment I’ve had is after a wedding, the whole crowd was chanting my name. That to me was an amazing feeling, everyone was coming up to me, giving me hugs, expressing how much fun they had.
What is the most unique service/product you offer?
The most unique service I offer is the alcohol supply! I have partnered with Pat’s Liquor to supply alcohol. Some venues require the couples to take care of that and it can be hard. My team and I help with what to buy, how much to buy, and delivery!
What types of events do you specialize in?
I specialize in “mixed-cultural” events. I do a really good job of mixing and blending the two cultures’ music together.
What makes your business stand out from others in your category?
Some might say it’s my DJ booth and speakers (they are pretty unique), but honestly, I think it’s my team and I.
What I mean by that is that any company can have great sound, a great looking DJ booth, great equipment, etc. But not many DJ companies have a DJ like myself. I’m not saying I’m the best DJ in town but my music knowledge is very extensive. I can play and mix all types of genres from all over the world. I can read a crowd and know exactly what to play next to keep people excited and dancing all night. A lot of venues and planners all come to me when they have a multicultural wedding because I do it so well.
We also go above and beyond for our clients. Whether it’s helping pour champagne before toasts, getting the bride a drink, bringing food for grandma and grandpa so they don’t have to make the buffet line, we do it all! We’re not just there to play music, we’re there to make sure everything goes perfect and smooth!
Tell us about your ideal client.
Our ideal client is anyone who loves music, loves dancing, and prioritizes their guest having fun!
Why do couples hire you?
I feel like couples hire me because of my personality and skill set.
What does your most popular package include? Tell us briefly about some of your package options. What is the price range for these packages?
My most popular package includes music and equipment for a ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. It also includes uplighting and monogram. My price range is $895-$1,800.
Why do you think your business is successful?
I think our business is successful because of how we treat both our couples and the vendors that we’re working with. Playing great music and having people dancing all night is a big plus, but the way we are with people, that’s what has helped us grow. People like working with good people, simple as that.
What is your best piece of advice for brides or grooms?
When you’re making music requests to your DJ, think of EVERYONE who’s attending. I get that it’s your day, but at the same time, you want to make sure your guest are also having fun. So pick music that your family loves, that you and your friends used to sing to, songs that will make grandma and grandpa get up, etc.
Bonus Advice: Don’t sit your elderly family by the DJ. It can be loud there and most likely, they’ll keep coming up asking to turn the music down.
What do you think are the biggest misconceptions that people have about your vendor category?
I feel like a lot of newly engaged couples don’t realize the importance of a DJ. Before I started doing weddings, I honestly didn’t even think we were that important either. I was wrong, a DJ can make or break your wedding. A DJ does more than just play music, they’re providing you sound for the ceremony, making all the announcements, communicating with other vendors, etc.
Tell us 3 venues that you enjoy working at and why.
There are so many awesome venues in Central Florida that I really enjoy working at. My top 3 (and this is very hard to do) are Venue 1902, Crystal Ballroom at Veranda & The Acre.
What I love about all 3 of these venues is that they all have an AMAZING staff that goes above and beyond for their couples and also the vendors working. For brides and bridesmaids, Venue 1902 is great because you can get there at 10 am and get ready there instead of an offsite location. Crystal Ballroom is awesome because all of the decors is included so you don’t have to do much. The Acre is so unique and different compared to traditional venues. It’s all outdoors and you can do so much do it. You can set up your tables throughout the yard, rent a tent, etc.

What some of their previous couples had to say….
“We weren’t even sure if we needed a DJ and the answer is yes yes yes! DJ Danny made our wedding such a fun and memorable night! I think we were surprised how much fun we ended up having. DJ Danny was incredibly organized and helpful as we navigated all our toasts, entrances, exits, and dances. He made everything seamless even though we were nervous and clueless at the start. We hired the social media photo station through Danny and our guests loved it, we loved it! We’ve had heaps of laughs looking back on all the photos. We used the photo station during the cocktail hour and reception and it was worth every cent. Danny also used an app for all of our wedding music selections and it made it so easy to add and give our wedding party access so they could make selections as well. Danny is such an amazing professional that he said if our first dance felt it was going too long we could just look over and he could transition into the next dance and we really appreciated how easily he could navigate on the spot! I also loved the personalized monogram Danny projected during our wedding, as a southern gal it added a personal flare that I loved!” – Ashlee A., Venue 1902
“Hands down, one of the BEST vendors we used for our wedding. Danny had everyone dancing from beginning to end. Our guests can not stop talking about how amazing he was! Not only did he execute everything we had asked for perfectly as a DJ, but he took care of all the extras making sure everything flowed nicely and putting us at ease on our wedding day. He took a LOAD of stress off of us the day of. He and his coworker Karen were so incredibly kind and thoughtful, they were both on top of everything and make a great team! You WILL NOT be disappointed when picking Danny as your DJ! Thank you again so much Danny!” – Amanda & Marcelo, Ever After Blueberry Barn
“We’re an interracial couple that was looking for a wedding DJ that could appeal to the diverse crowd of wedding guests. Danny did just that and more! We didn’t just have a wedding reception, we had a freaking wedding party!!! He got the crowd on the floor and the rest was history. It was so amazing for us to see the diversity of guests dancing all night to all types of music! It was just what we wanted and more! We have no regrets that we booked Danny. Will definitely refer him to our friends and family!” – Clyde L., Noah’s Event Venue
