Hiring the right wedding vendor is so important on your wedding day. The decorating style you choose sets the tone for the whole day.
It gives us great pleasure to introduce this week’s venue spotlight, Ann Taylor from A Chair Affair, Inc.
When people ask “what do you do?” how do you answer?
I’m one of the owners of A Chair Affair, a family owned business. We provide wedding and event rentals you need to make your event your own.
What did you do before you did this?
Sales and marketing for our construction information company. LOL, not exactly wedding-related, right?
When and how did you get into the wedding industry?
I recognized a need for quality rentals at fair prices in the Orlando area.
How did your work evolve to get you to where you are today?
I believed in and loved what A Chair Affair was doing, so as a family we reinvested our profits in the business to make more clients’ dreams come true! As a result, between our Orlando and Lakeland warehouses, we have just under 60,000 square feet of delightful rentals.
What is your favorite thing about what you do? What’s your WHY?
I love seeing a client’s vision for their day come true! Often we’re asked if we have a certain item. If I can tell it’s just the piece they want to finish their special look, we’ll purchase the item and add it to our rentals. It’s all about the dream coming true.
I also simply enjoy working with the other vendors in the industry; they are all amazing people.
What’s the best part of your job?
There are so many things I love about my job; chatting online with brides, making dreams come true, counseling couples on how to have a happy marriage (I’ve been married 41 years to my high school sweetheart, and he still makes my heart beat fast!), networking with “friendors” (that’s friend + vendor!), and working with our team, to name a few things!
What motivates you to do this every day?
A love of the industry!
What fun fact would people be surprised to learn about you?
I planned my sixth birthday party. My mom said I couldn’t have a birthday party; because my baby sister was due any day. So I made invitations with crayons and paper and passed them out to my classmates to come to my party. Sure enough, my baby sister decided to come that Saturday, so I enlisted the help of our next door neighbor, Mrs. Jenny, to bake me a cake. Everyone came, we played in the backyard, and the party was a success. Moral of the story, never tell a resourceful six-year-old she can’t have a birthday party!
What is the best compliment you’ve received from your clients?
I think the best compliment is when our clients recommend our services to their friends and come back for their future events.
What is your best piece of advice for brides or grooms?
To remember that their wedding day is about them celebrating their love; and that everything else will fall into place.

Mission Inn offers so many diverse locations for you to have your ceremony and reception; their chef is creative, and their team excels at everything they do.
Ritz Carlton – I love the smell and feeling you get when you walk into the property. Their ballrooms are beautiful, and their staff is easy to work with and they aim to please.
Gaylord Palms – Offers so many unique spaces and entertainment for your wedding guests. The atrium is soothing and lush; there is no reason your guests will need to leave the property.
