What advice would you give a couple who is starting the search for the perfect venue?

Ask questions about special effects. Most couples have an idea they have in their head on how they picture their first dance, party etc. they see dancing on the cloud, cold sparks, co2 etc but they forget to ask the venue if they allow such effects. Most venue do not allow them and their vision doesn’t become their reality. If you see something you like and would like to have it at tour wedding, always ask the venue if they allow such effects.
