Our Story
There once was a couple, Derek and Gail Berge, planning their children’s weddings. After spending too many hours over quite a few days looking for a venue, they thought… “there has to be an easier way”.
The Wedding Venue Map was born! The first resource of its kind… a PRINTED MAP that lists EVERY VENUE within a defined GEOGRAPHICAL AREA.
While the printed map was a great start, it lacked the ability to search by specific criteria important to today’s brides and grooms. Introducing Shannon Tarrant, Central Florida wedding industry veteran with a passion for venues.
WeddingVenueMap.com was launched in the Spring of 2018. A similar resource listing every venue but adding the time saving factor of REFINING and SORTING through the results.

My love of all things weddings began in 2007 at a Central Florida catering company. I had the privilege of helping hundreds of couples plan and celebrate the biggest day of their lives. As a caterer, I had the opportunity to work at unique venues all over the Orlando area.
The next step in my journey was managing weddings at Mission Inn Resort. My focus was on finding couples who were the right fit for this unique venue. When they weren’t, my background and venue knowledge would help lead them towards other options.
My love of learning and teaching led me to open The Shannon Experience, a small business consulting company helping wedding venues and vendors reach their ideal couples and fullest potential. It was during this time that I connected with Derek and Gail Berge.
The first time I saw the Wedding Venue Map, I knew that I could use my experience in the wedding industry to help Derek and Gail grow and expand. In late 2017, I had the idea to take the best features of the map online and WeddingVenueMap.com was born.
Most days you can find me either out connecting with wedding vendors, working from home with my two fur babies, Gracie and Coal, or off on some local foodie adventure with my guy, John.

We own and operate 2 successful publishing companies: Educational Publishing of Central Florida and Giant Locator Map Company. Both companies were started 8 years ago during the height of the recession and both have grown exponentially.
Between the two companies, we annually produce 10 unique print publications. We take great satisfaction in having built a publishing business that provides valuable information to parents, families, schools, pet owners and engaged couples.
The Wedding Venue Map was born out of Gail’s experience in planning our children’s weddings.
After spending 30+ hours online researching and contacting numerous venues, we knew there had to be a better way for engaged couples to find their perfect venue. Hence, The Wedding Venue Map was born.
It is our family that provides our real purpose and greatest joy. We are the parents of 4 grown children and 7 grandchildren and anxiously await the day we can retire and spend more time with our grandchildren.
