Ashlie and Ricky celebrated their dark and moody wedding at 1010 West, a unique event space in downtown Orlando, Florida.
We knew we needed to feature this couple’s dark and moody wedding when we saw their amazing images. Rebeka with Tomb Bloom shared her experience working with Ashlie and Ricky on their dark and moody wedding.
How did you bring the couple’s vision to life with the products that you provided?
Less is more! This bride wanted minimal items. She loved the vintage romance goth inspiration. We provided florals for her ceremonial arch as well as florals to dress the floor at the start of the wedding guest seats.
For reception, we dressed up the lantern centerpieces with florals and added black taper candles with black tea light candles and holders.
Clear glass cylinder candleholders were provided with black block candles to sparkle the aisles. Once the lovely ceremony was done, we repurposed the floor florals and clear glass cylinder candles from the entrance of the guest seats to the front of the sweetheart table.
The ceremonial arch was also repurposed to the back of the sweetheart table.
What was your favorite personal or design detail that was unique to the couple included in this dark and moody wedding?
The couple loves all things black, dark, and goth, so we added a splash of black florals within the items they wanted. Spray painting black florals is our specialty!
Instead of leaving the greenery in its natural colors, all greenery was spray painted black. Gives it that spookiness the couple was looking for.
Tell me more about your roadmap working with this couple.
We were discovered by The Tattooed Bride Photography, who also owns Til Death Chapel and have been referring their couples to us for florals.
The couple hired The Tattooed Bride Photography and us for a bridal bouquet on their engagement shoot, which was so awesome as they looked so much like Morticia & Gomez Addams that the bride also hired us for their wedding day florals!
Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?
Planning a wedding is definitely a lot of work, patience, and time. Just remember, it is YOUR wedding day. Do it exactly how you want it, and don’t let others ruin it.
Congratulations, Ashlie and Ricky, on your dark and moody real wedding story!
