About Blue Chip Entertainment
The story of Blue Chip started in Detroit in the 1960s through the 1980s, where the streets were filled with the spirit of music and fun. As a tribute to his father who owned The Blue Chip Lounge, DJ Johnny O’Clock created his own entertainment company and has since been DJing for over 25 years now.
What makes the Blue Chip DJ’s stand out is our ability to keep guests dancing all night, keep the party going and do it in a way that adds class and humor. DJ Johnny always says, “We’re going to find that one person in the corner, and make sure they have the time of their life.”

What should couples know before their first consultation with you?
Listening is super important to me. So I love any and all questions first!
How would you describe your style or approach?
I like to dj like a roller coaster! Strap everyone in building their excitement from the start then once we get to the top and open up that dance floor then BOOM! We go in!! Go crazy, loopy loops, slow it down a little, go crazy again then boom! Everyone leaving going.. “I don’t know what just happened but that was an amazing wedding!”
What does the process of working with you look like?
Once I’m contacted, we will set up a FaceTime/Zoom style “Meet and Greet” for our consultation. Once we proceed to booking, everything is done Via Email! I try to make everything as easy as possible and LOVE communication throughout to make sure everything is as smooth as possible!
How far in advance do you recommend couples book their services?
For sure a year to two years in advance.
What is included in your most popular packages?
The up lights for sure! or the Cold Sparks!
Do you offer customizable packages or à la carte options?
Yes we do! We have our standard packages and offer our enhancers as an a la carte option.
Do you have experience with different cultural or religious wedding traditions?
YES! I love mix cultural events! I’ve done the following events so far: Moroccan Jordanian Assyrian Jewish Jehovah Witness Irish Scottish Caribbean Latin Brazilian Indian Australian Chinese Italian
What is one thing couples often forget to ask but should?
What style of dj are you? Open format, Club, EDM, or other?
What current trends have you seen at weddings?
One trend I’m seeing that’s awesome is having the couple open the doors to the reception! As guests come in the can greet the couple then so that the couple can have their moment eating dinner uninterrupted.

It shouldn’t even be a question that DJ Johnny is the best DJ/MC out there. We went to Hidden Barn’s open house in August 2024 where Johnny was the MC and we knew IMMEDIATELY that he would be djing our wedding in January 2026. The vibes he gives off are unmatched, the mixes he puts together are fire and he truly listens to make your day exactly what you imagined. We knew we wanted a party, a fun, hype, non stop party with edm, hip hop, reggaeton, and Y2K with no country and no requests. Not only did Johnny make it happen and accommodate my last minute changes with EASE but he made such a hype party that I literally had to ask him to stop playing such good music so I could go outside and do the Photo Booth! I’m not even joking, I kept getting sucked back into dancing for 15 whole minutes before I finally had to ask him to play something that would allow me to leave for a few haha. From beginning to end he kept the party at the right level. Thank you isn’t enough. Anyone having any event, wedding or not, should 100% hire Johnny, no questions.

We went to a wedding about 5yrs ago for a very special couple of ours. I was so incredibly impressed by his professionalism and he definitely left an impression that I would never forget. His dedication of making you feel all the feels on the dance floor is real. Ive always said it’s all about the music, being in a similar business its the music that makes you feel good and in gaging in any event. Fast forward I told my daughter he will be our Dj for your wedding no matter what! I can’t wait to dance the night away on 3/20 with my SHOES off!! Thanks Johnny!
