Frequently Asked Questions

How would you define your "style"?

Our style is best described as a blend of photojournalistic, candid, traditional, and creative storytelling. We believe the most meaningful images are often the natural moments that happen throughout the day—the laughter, happy tears, reactions, and emotions that cannot be recreated. While much of our approach focuses on capturing authentic moments as they unfold, we also understand the importance of family portraits and timeless wedding photographs. During these moments, we provide guidance and direction to ensure everyone looks their best while keeping the experience relaxed and enjoyable. We also incorporate creative and artistic imagery throughout the day, whether during getting ready, couples portraits, sunset sessions, or special venue locations. The result is a well-rounded collection of photographs and films that tells the complete story of your wedding day while reflecting your unique personalities and style.

What does the process of working with your company look like?

Our process is designed to be simple, organized, and stress-free. It begins with a conversation where we learn more about your wedding plans, vision, and photography or videography needs. Whether by phone, video call, or in person, we’ll answer your questions and help you determine the coverage that best fits your celebration. Once you’re ready to move forward, we’ll provide an online booking proposal where you can review your package, sign your agreement, and make your reservation payment securely. From there, you’ll have access to our online client portal, where you can manage your account, complete questionnaires, and make payments at your convenience. As your wedding day approaches, we’ll work with you to review timelines, important details, family photo requests, and any special moments you want documented. Our goal is to help ensure everything runs smoothly so you can focus on enjoying your day. On the wedding day, our team captures the events naturally as they unfold while providing guidance when needed for portraits, family photos, and other key moments. After the wedding, your images and films are professionally edited and delivered through your online gallery, making it easy to view, share, download, and enjoy your memories for years to come.

What is included in your most popular packages?

While every wedding is unique, our most popular photography and videography collections typically include professional wedding day coverage, high-resolution edited images, an online gallery for viewing and sharing, and professionally edited wedding films. Many couples also choose collections that include engagement sessions, multiple photographers or videographers, extended coverage hours, wedding albums, and other enhancements designed to provide a more complete storytelling experience. Because our packages are built around coverage time and wedding day needs, we can help you select the collection that best fits your celebration, whether you’re planning an intimate gathering or a full-day wedding event.

What is a unique tip you tell your couples that is specific to your vendor category?

One of the biggest pieces of advice we give couples is to intentionally build a little breathing room into their wedding day timeline. Many couples underestimate how quickly the day moves, and even an extra 10–15 minutes between major events can make a tremendous difference in reducing stress and creating more opportunities for natural, candid photographs. We also encourage couples to focus less on perfect poses and more on being present with each other. The photographs and videos that couples cherish most years later are often the genuine reactions, laughter, happy tears, and unscripted moments that happen naturally throughout the day. Finally, if photography is important to you, consider scheduling at least a portion of your couples portraits during the hour before sunset. The softer, more flattering light often creates some of the most beautiful images of the entire wedding day.

What current trends have you seen at weddings?

One of the biggest trends we’re seeing is couples placing a greater emphasis on creating a personalized wedding experience rather than following a traditional formula. Many couples are incorporating private vows, first looks, unique entertainment, signature cocktails, and meaningful details that reflect their personalities and relationship. We’re also seeing a continued preference for candid, documentary-style photography and videography. Couples want authentic moments and genuine emotions captured naturally rather than spending large portions of the day posing for photographs. Intimate weddings, micro weddings, and destination celebrations remain popular, while larger weddings are becoming more focused on guest experience and meaningful interactions. Another growing trend is content creation and social media coverage, allowing couples to enjoy quick behind-the-scenes moments and highlights while they wait for their professionally edited photos and films. Most importantly, today’s couples are creating wedding days that feel true to them, and that’s a trend we love to see because it results in more meaningful memories and more authentic storytelling.

What advice would you give a couple who is starting the search for the perfect venue?

Start by focusing on your overall vision, guest count, and budget before falling in love with a specific venue. The perfect venue should not only fit your style and personality, but also comfortably accommodate your guests and support the type of experience you want to create. When touring venues, pay attention to more than just the appearance. Consider factors such as ceremony and reception flow, indoor backup options, parking, accessibility, getting-ready spaces, and what is included in the venue rental. These details can have a significant impact on your wedding day experience. We also encourage couples to think about lighting and the variety of photo opportunities available throughout the property. Beautiful outdoor spaces, unique architectural elements, and well-designed indoor areas can provide incredible backdrops for both photography and videography. One consideration that is often overlooked is how well a venue photographs. Your venue is one of the largest investments you’ll make for your wedding day, and photography and videography are the investments that preserve those memories for years to come. Look for a venue that offers a variety of attractive locations, natural light, architectural character, and unique backdrops that will help create a beautiful and diverse collection of photographs and films. A venue that photographs well can have a lasting impact on the overall look and feel of your wedding memories. Finally, trust your instincts. After photographing weddings at hundreds of venues throughout Florida and beyond, we’ve found that couples often know when they’ve found the right place. The best venue is one that reflects your relationship, your priorities, and the experience you want to share with your family and friends.

A Little About Us

What makes you or your business stand out and why should a couple hire you?

What sets Rhodes Studios apart is our combination of experience, versatility, and a genuine commitment to our couples. Since 2005, we have had the privilege of photographing and filming thousands of weddings, giving us the knowledge and confidence to adapt to virtually any venue, timeline, lighting condition, or wedding style. Our approach blends candid storytelling, traditional portraiture, and creative imagery to create a complete collection of memories. We believe your wedding photographs and films should not only look beautiful, but also capture the emotions, relationships, and moments that make your day uniquely yours. Another difference is our team-based approach. Under the leadership and creative vision of founder and lead photographer Edmund Rhodes, our photographers, videographers, and editors work together to deliver a consistent experience from your first conversation through the final delivery of your images and films. Most importantly, we understand that we’re not just documenting a wedding—we’re preserving memories that will be shared with future generations. We take that responsibility seriously and strive to provide exceptional service, clear communication, and a fun, stress-free experience so you can focus on enjoying one of the most important days of your life.

What's a fun or unusual fact about you or your company?

A fun fact about Rhodes Studios is that since opening our doors in 2005, we’ve had the privilege of photographing and filming more than 4,000 weddings. That’s thousands of love stories, countless happy tears, unforgettable first dances, and more cake-cutting moments than we could ever count! While we’ve photographed weddings at venues throughout Florida and beyond, what continues to amaze us is that no two weddings are ever exactly alike. Every couple brings their own personalities, traditions, and unique story, which is one of the reasons we still love what we do after more than two decades in the wedding industry. Another fun fact: even after all these years, our photographers and videographers are always searching for new creative angles, interesting lighting, and unique locations to make each wedding collection feel fresh, personal, and one-of-a-kind.

How did you get started as a wedding pro?

Photography began as a passion long before it became a profession. From an early age, I was fascinated by the ability to capture moments and preserve memories through a photograph. What started as a creative hobby eventually grew into a career, and in 2005 I founded Rhodes Studios Photography and Video. As my experience grew, I found myself drawn to weddings because no other type of photography combines so many meaningful elements in a single day—emotion, storytelling, family, celebration, and once-in-a-lifetime moments. I quickly realized that I wasn’t just taking photographs; I was helping couples preserve memories that would become part of their family’s history for generations to come. Over the years, that passion has grown into a talented team of photographers, videographers, and editors who share the same commitment to creativity, professionalism, and exceptional service. More than 4,000 weddings later, we still feel honored every time a couple trusts us to document one of the most important days of their lives.

Share a piece of advice to reduce stress in the wedding planning process.

One of the best pieces of advice we can offer is to remember that your wedding is a celebration of your relationship—not a performance. It’s easy to get caught up in details, trends, opinions, and the pressure to make everything perfect, but the moments you’ll remember most are often the ones you never planned. Start with the big decisions first, such as your venue, guest count, budget, and key vendors. Once those pieces are in place, many of the smaller details become much easier to manage. Having experienced professionals on your team can also make a tremendous difference, as they can help guide you through the process and answer questions along the way. As your wedding day approaches, try to build a little flexibility into your timeline. Wedding days almost always move faster than expected, and a little extra breathing room can help reduce stress while creating more opportunities to enjoy the experience and spend time with the people you love. Most importantly, don’t lose sight of why you’re planning the wedding in the first place. At the end of the day, the most memorable weddings are not necessarily the most elaborate—they’re the ones where couples are fully present, enjoying the moment, and celebrating with the people who matter most.

What's your favorite wedding tradition and why?

One of our favorite wedding traditions is the moment a couple sees each other for the first time on their wedding day. Whether it’s the traditional walk down the aisle or a private first look before the ceremony, those reactions are often some of the most genuine and emotional moments of the entire celebration. After photographing more than 4,000 weddings, it’s still amazing to witness the excitement, anticipation, happy tears, and expressions that happen in those few seconds. No matter how much planning goes into a wedding, that moment is completely authentic and unique to each couple. A close second would be the parent dances. These moments often become some of the most meaningful memories of the day, bringing together generations of family, love, and celebration. As photographers and videographers, we’re fortunate to witness these once-in-a-lifetime moments and preserve them for couples and their families to enjoy for years to come.

Tell us more about the couples you usually get the pleasure of working with.

One of the things we enjoy most about this profession is that no two couples are exactly alike. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of working with couples from all walks of life, backgrounds, cultures, and age groups, each bringing their own personalities and unique love stories to their wedding day. That said, many of the couples who choose Rhodes Studios are looking for more than just beautiful photographs and films. They value genuine moments, meaningful relationships, and an experience that feels natural rather than overly staged. They want to enjoy their wedding day, spend time with family and friends, and trust that the important moments will be captured as they unfold. Our couples often appreciate a blend of candid storytelling, timeless portraits, and creative imagery. They want photographs and films that not only document what happened, but also reflect how the day felt. Whether they’re planning an intimate elopement, a destination celebration, or a large wedding with hundreds of guests, they share a common desire to preserve memories that will be cherished for generations. Most importantly, we tend to attract kind, fun-loving couples who are excited about celebrating their relationship and creating lasting memories with the people they love most. Those are exactly the kinds of couples we love working with.

What are some of the best compliments you've received from your clients?

Some of the most meaningful compliments we receive have very little to do with cameras and everything to do with the experience. Couples often tell us that they felt comfortable, relaxed, and genuinely enjoyed having our team as part of their wedding day. As photographers and videographers, that’s one of the greatest compliments we can receive. Many clients have shared that they were surprised by how natural and enjoyable the photography process felt, especially if they were initially nervous about being in front of the camera. Others have told us they appreciated our organization, communication, and ability to help keep the day running smoothly while still capturing the important moments. Of course, we also love hearing that couples were brought back to the emotions of their wedding day when viewing their photographs and films for the first time. When someone tells us that we captured moments they didn’t even realize were happening, or that their images and films made them laugh, cry, and relive the day all over again, we know we’ve done our job well. Perhaps the compliment we treasure most is when couples, family members, and friends refer us to others. After more than 4,000 weddings, many of our new couples come from past clients, and there is no greater vote of confidence than being trusted to document another family’s most important memories.
