At Sugar Flowers by Kelsie Cakes, we’re here to bring your wedding cake dreams to life with custom-tailored Sugar Flower designs that blend seamlessly into your wedding day design. And if your design style leans a little more whimsical, colorful, playful, ethereal, and even unexpected, then we are going to have so much fun together!
To get the process started, a highly trained sugar artist (hi, I’m Kelsie, it’s me!) will sketch a floral arrangement design inspired by your wedding for the ultimate show-stopping centerpiece (that’s your cake!), and then… the fun happens!
After you approve the design, Kelsie will carefully craft each and every flower, and leaf, and bud, and blossom by hand.
These handcrafted sugar flowers are made exclusively for cake artists, wedding pros, and you: the creatives with an eye for detail and a love for flowers, cakes, and jaw-dropping design.

Services Offered
We create floral wedding cake arrangements by hand-crafting flowers out of sugar, using a clay-like material called gum paste. These sugar flowers, once fully dried, are shelf-stable and can last for years, meaning you can save them as a keepsake from your wedding day long after the last cake slice has been served!
By only focusing on sugar flowers, we pour our creative energy into making the most life-like and durable flowers just for your wedding. We work closely with bakeries and cake designers, but anyone involved in the planning process is welcome to reach out directly: couples, planners, florists, and venue coordinators.

Botanical Dreams
For showstopping, maximalist designs.
This design package includes a minimum of 10 statement flowers surrounded by dozens of supporting blooms and greenery. Best suited for large (4+ tier) wedding cakes.
Starting at $2000
Enchanted Garden
Best suited for 3 and 4 tier cakes.
This design package includes 4-8 statement flowers, with plenty of supporting blooms and greenery layered together with a rich mix of floral varieties and sizes.
Starting at $1000
Petite Garden Party
Perfect for small weddings cakes, single tier cakes, or a minimal design on tiered cakes.
This design package includes lush supporting flowers and greenery, with up to three statement flowers added at higher tiers.

Ready-Made Sugar Flowers
Not everyone needs a fully custom arrangement, and that’s okay, too! Our ready-to-ship online shop offers curated sugar flower designs available for immediate purchase, with no wait list and no minimum order.
It’s a great entry point for couples who are still deciding, working with a tighter budget, or just need something beautiful without the long lead time. Custom is where I do my best work, but ready-to-ship is a great place to start.

We’re also available for shipping! We’ve shipped our flowers throughout the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands, as well as internationally to Canada and the UK.

What are sugar flowers?
Sugar flowers are handcrafted flowers made from gumpaste: a pliable sugar-based medium that can be shaped, textured, and painted to replicate real flowers with remarkable detail. Each petal is formed and assembled by hand, one at a time. The results looks so realistic that most people assume they’re real flowers. Unlike fresh flowers, sugar flowers won’t wilt, brown, or drop petals on a wedding cake. They’re sturdy enough to ship, hold up in Florida’s heat and humidity, and durable enough to be created weeks before the wedding. They can also be kept as a keepsake long after the wedding day. Any flower can be made to order and fully customizable, no matter the season, color palette, or wedding aesthetic. A note on safety: Sugar flowers are made with edible ingredients but contain floral wire for structure and are not intended for consumption.
How would you describe your style or approach?
My style leans toward whimsical and colorful and fun, always rooted in the beauty of flowers and botanicals in nature. I’m often inspired by unkempt wildflower meadows and playful flower gardens at the high of spring. Even though my sugar flowers take inspiration from real flowers, I love the creativity of using unexpected colors, or mixing flowers of different seasons and temperaments.
What does the process of working with you look like?
Once you’ve booked your venue, florist, and cake maker, it’s time to book your cake flowers! I’ll get an idea of your overall wedding design and inspiration, then create a design mock-up for you, incorporating your favorite flowers, colors, and styles. After you’ve approved the design, I’ll get to work creating the flowers out of sugar paste and hand-painting them to look realistic. Before delivering your flowers, I’ll share videos and photos of your sugar flowers mocked up on a faux cake, along with instructions on how to create the final design on your wedding cake. I can work directly with your planner, florist, and cake maker to make the cake’s floral design seamlessly align with your overall wedding aesthetic.
How far in advance do you recommend couples book their services?
I recommend booking at least 6 weeks before the wedding date to allow enough time to design and create the flowers. Unlike fresh flowers, sugar flowers won’t wilt or go bad before the wedding. They’re shelf-stable and durable, so spoilage is not an issue. That means, you can order as soon as you’ve booked your cake maker and confirmed your floral design. Need something last-minute? Reach out, and we’ll do our best to make it work.
Do you offer customizable packages or à la carte options?
Each of our packages is fully customizable with our Signature Sugar Flowers – every sugar flower is made by hand for you and can be customized specifically to your wedding design and colors. For à la carte purchases, the best place to look is on our website, where you can purchase ready-made sugar flowers.
What current trends have you seen at weddings?
My current favorite trend is everything whimsical! I love all the color and the unique and sometimes silly touches that couples are bringing to their wedding. From brightly colored floral arrangements (and of course, cake florals!!) to bold and textural linens to unique guest experiences (Bubble machines? Late night s’mores? Live artist paintings? Sign me up!), the more whimsical, the better!
How does shipping and delivery work?
All flowers are carefully packaged and shipped via UPS or local courier. For clients who need more assistance placing the flowers on the cake, White Glove Delivery is available. I’ll hand-deliver to your venue and coordinate placement with the cake designer, or set up onsite. Limited to schedule availability
