What's a fun or unusual fact about you or your company?

During my first year of business, I provided bartending services at a private residence on Thanksgiving Day. The client had a rather large gathering of family and friends. I went the whole evening without knowing several of them were famous retired NBA players - clearly, I don't follow sports.

How did you get started as a wedding pro?

I have a completely different background - but that's a story for another day. I bartended, as a favor, for a friend of a friend. It was an 80th birthday with 150 people and they were short one bartender. I had never professionally bartended, but they begged and pleaded and talked me into it. Up until that time I had only bartended parties at my home … granted I had a huge 12’ wet-bar with about 200 different bottles of liquor … but bartending for friends is all I had ever done. During the event I couldn’t help recognizing how the other bartenders conducted themselves. The bar equipment was no more than flat black tables, ugly white coolers and everything was in a disorganized mess …. They didn’t even have the first little piece of deco on the bar to dress it up. The following day I started to do a little research … and concluded I could offer a superior service than what was available. It just so happened that I was looking for a new venture so the timing couldn’t have been better. Since then, we have continued to grow and evolve. Always offering new and exciting services, additional deco and lighting choices and we’re already planning a few huge surprises coming for the 2025 season.

Share a piece of advice to reduce stress in the wedding planning process.

two words ... Professional Coordinator .... so, so important !! Unless you do events, specifically weddings, for a living ... you need someone who does. There are too many ins and outs and little do-dad's that need to get taken care of. You'll still have a ton of decisions to make and things to do .... but a coordinator will keep you on track.

What's your favorite wedding tradition and why?

ok .... this is kind of corny but I'm saying it anyway. I my own unique wedding tradition I love doing for my couples. When they are introduced into the reception hall I pop champagne - arcing the cork over their heads. They later toast with that champagne and at the end of the evening I present them with the cork. I explain that they should date the cork and make it the start of their collection of celebratory corks.

Tell us more about the couples you usually get the pleasure of working with.

Couples from every walk of life with one thing in common - their focus on the guest experience. They don't want ordinary .... they want something fun, special and unique ... an experience their guests will remember. From the bar presentation to the interaction and banter with the bartenders to the drinks and things served up on the dance floor. They're wanting that extra something special from their bar service - they're wanting "Far More than a Pour".

What are some of the best compliments you've received from your clients?

To me, the best compliment is when we end up bartending again and again for additional family & friends ... to the point where they have paid for us to travel out of state because "we are the best event bartenders they have ever seen" and don't wish to use anyone else.
