Neva and Mark celebrated their fun and carefree wedding at Grass Campers Event Venue, a rural and rustic event venue that’s off-grid and a clean solar energy facility.
When we saw their amazing images, we reached out to this amazing couple for all the details that made up their special day!
How did you bring the couple’s vision to life with the services / products that you provided?
The first day that we (Katie & Kevin Mosley, owners and coordinators of Grass Campers Event Venue) met with Neva & Mark we clicked. Their sweet gentle spirit and attention and concern for the little details that’s made their love story special is what made us fall in love with them even more. Our GC Event Venue team discussed the color scheme and style of wedding design and decor that they envisioned and went to work providing them the most beautiful options within their guidelines.
We as a venue also provided the couple with all of the necessary tables, chairs, linens, arches, benches, and the full set up and clean up of the event as well as the day of coordinating to give the bride and groom and their families a day they could enjoy without having to lift a finger. We were excited to get the opportunity to help them bring their day to life and create the fun light-hearted and carefree vibes they had envisioned with their close family and friends.
What was your favorite personal or design detail that was unique to the couple included in this wedding?
Neva & Mark’s wedding was held on a Wednesday at Grass Campers Event Venue. For some, this may just be a way to save money but for Mark and Neva, it was so much more. This particular Wednesday marked the three-year anniversary of the day they met, and they wanted to forever hold that date near and dear to their hearts which was beautiful.
Their wedding was filled with other beautiful intentional special features like the family heirloom rosary cross necklace that was wrapped around Neva’s Bouquet or The ice cream truck they had serving milkshakes and ice cream cones for their guest. This exact truck, Parlor Ice Cream, is a staple in the couple’s weekly date night routine usually parked right down the street from their house, so what better way to celebrate their love story than to incorporate it into their wedding? It was a sweet addition to their day!
Tell me more about your roadmap working with this couple.
Grass Campers Event Venue staff and their owner and coordinator Katie Mosley worked hand in hand with Mark & Neva helping them to find the right vendors for this occasion that were the perfect fit for them and their budget. With the limited services package that Neva & Mark chose Katie helped the couple by introducing them to good local options and giving them the time to pick and choose what was the best fit for them. Then, the couple was sent a full 4-page wedding day questionnaire form written and provided by GC Event Venue with every detail and request for the day that the couple wanted from songs to cake flavors.
Once the couples shared, Katie worked directly with the vendors to ensure everything would go smoothly on the day of the wedding. Many hours were spent in person and over the phone helping them determine their best wedding day timeline based on their requested activities and desires and the day was not only beautiful but it went perfectly.
Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?
Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?When I host and coordinate our weddings at Grass Camper Event Venue I always like to remind my couples to stop, breathe, and take it all in. The day is full of rituals timelines and requirements and occasionally family pulling you in every direction. Do not forget to have fun and be yourself and walk away from time to time when you need to. It’s okay to not follow every detail perfectly and it’s okay to change things up. It is your day and it’s about what makes you happy.
Most importantly do not get worked up over the little things that might not go perfectly as planned that are out of your control because those are the things you will giggle about years down the road. Ring boys will refuse to walk down the aisle, fur babies will poop in the middle of the reception, the best man will probably stumble through the speech he worked on for 6 weeks and the maid of honor might fight with a spider or a bee at the altar. All of these things are the unplanned organic moments you can’t predict or buy and they are the ones you will talk about for years to come and smile.
