What makes you or your business stand out and why should a couple hire you?

I've been told by couples and other professionals alike: I'm quick to get back to my emails and messages and that I'm always excited and bring the energy. I know that not everyone has a passion for paper poundage and calligraphy details, but I do and I love it!

What's a fun or unusual fact about you or your company?

I have a degree in interior design and took architectural drafting classes in high school. I love that I still get a fun way to use my degree when I get to watercolor wedding venues.

How did you get started as a wedding pro?

I've been an artist my whole life. I learned calligraphy in 1994 and calligraphy, watercolor, and art were a part of my college degree. I designed and addressed my own wedding invitations. After that, I started taking on some weddings for friends, which progressed into opening my own studio.

Share a piece of advice to reduce stress in the wedding planning process.

Your guest address list is the most stressful part of your invitations, especially when you work with me. The sooner you begin the process of collecting your guests' addresses, the better shape you'll be in. Don't feel like you need to do it all alone either - tag team with your fiancé and your parents.

What's your favorite wedding tradition and why?

As silly as it might sound, I really enjoy the wedding etiquette around the proper addressing of envelopes. Etiquette sounds like it only for your mom or grandmother, but I find the great respect of your guests there. Not sure how to address your same-sex cousins? I got it. What about when your boss is a doctor but her husband is not? I got that, too!

Tell us more about the couples you usually get the pleasure of working with.

I've worked with quite the range of couples; from those that have gotten married in a casino to those getting married at Disney. The one thing they have in common is that they don't want a design that anyone else has. They really want to wow their guests from the moment they open their mailbox all the way through their special day.

What are some of the best compliments you've received from your clients?

Two of my favorite to hear are:That their invitations are even better than they could possibly imagine,And that their guests are keeping their invitations on their refrigerators long after their wedding day.

How would you define your "style"?

Classical, romantic, with a bit of whimsy.

What does the process of working with your company look like?

After getting to know each other and ensuring that my style matches with your wedding style, we'll go through some sketched out ideas. When we have a style direction, I'll start watercoloring the details and putting it all together. You'll receive updates along the way before getting the final proof. Once you're happy with it, it'll be printed, assembled, and ready for you. All you'd need to do is take them to the Post Office to be weighed for postage and mailed out.

What is included in your most popular packages?

Custom watercolor invitations with spot calligraphy, a details card, an RSVP card and envelope, tied together with ribbon and a wax seal, placed inside an envelope with custom envelope liner and addressed in calligraphy.

What is a unique tip you tell your couples that is specific to your vendor category?

There is nothing wrong with having a Pinterest board with stationery ideas on it. But those should be just ideas. It's not fair to the original creator or yourself to ask someone else to recreate one of the pins for you. If you're looking for a design that really captures you and your love story, it's great to let your designer have the creative freedom to make something special and unique.

What current trends have you seen at weddings?

I've seen (and love when) couples include details that are personal to their love story. From the colors they choose to the names of their signature drinks. And those unique details create an unforgettable event!

What advice would you give a couple who is starting the search for the perfect venue?

Keep the important features on the top of your mind when you're touring venues. If you want breathtaking city-scape views or large getting-ready suites, try to do your homework on the venues that have those prior to booking. When you end up in a venue that has exactly what you wanted, you'll love your photos and the experience of getting married there.

What services do you offer?

Fully customized invitation designs and event branding, semi-custom invitation designs, day-of papers and signage (seating charts, escort cards, menus, signature drinks, etc.), and post-wedding Thank You cards.
