Hi, I’m Marie, the owner of Lovely Hair and Makeup. I specialize in on-location bridal hair and makeup throughout Central Florida.

After over 13 years in the wedding industry, I’ve learned that great bridal beauty is only half the job. A wedding morning can either feel calm, organized, and exciting… or completely chaotic. My role naturally became more than just hair and makeup. I’m constantly helping manage timing, reading the room, keeping things flowing, calming nerves, adjusting to last-minute changes, and making sure my clients still feel like themselves when they look in the mirror.

I’m very detail-oriented and genuinely care about the experience people are having around me. I notice things. I notice when the room feels overwhelmed, when the timeline needs adjusting, when someone needs a minute to breathe, or when the energy needs to lighten up a little.

I also know how important it is to actually listen to clients. If you ask for soft glam, I’m not going to give you full glam because it photographs better or because it’s trendy. My goal is always to make people feel comfortable, confident, and like the best version of themselves.

Over the years, working with so many different cultures, personalities, traditions, and family dynamics has made me a stronger artist and a better business owner. Every wedding teaches me something new, and I think that’s part of what keeps this career so special to me.

What should couples know before their first consultation with you?

Before we speak, I always recommend having a general idea of the look and vibe you’re going for, along with an estimated service count for anyone needing hair and makeup. You don’t need every little detail figured out yet. That’s what I’m here for. Consultations are meant to feel relaxed, collaborative, and informative so we can make sure we’re the right fit for each other and create a plan that fits your vision, timeline, and overall wedding morning experience.

How would you describe your style or approach?

My approach is very detail-oriented, personalized, and adaptable. No two weddings, faces, or personalities are the same, so I focus heavily on reading the room, understanding what my clients actually want, and creating a look that feels authentic to them instead of overly trendy or forced.

What does the process of working with you look like?

Once you inquire, I’ll gather all the details needed to create a custom proposal based on your event, services, and timeline needs. From there, I guide you through booking, contracts, payments, and all the little details leading up to your day. As your event gets closer, I’ll send questionnaires, prep information, timelines, and check-ins to keep everything organized and stress-free. On the day of your event, I arrive fully equipped and ready to create a calm, fun, and seamless getting-ready experience.

How far in advance do you recommend couples book their services?

I always recommend booking as early as possible, especially during peak wedding seasons. Some brides book over a year in advance, while others book just a few months out depending on availability. The sooner you inquire, the better chance I have of reserving your date and building the perfect timeline for your morning.

Do you offer customizable packages or à la carte options?

Absolutely! It’s your wedding, and I find you should be able to hand-select whatever services fit your needs for your day.

Do you have experience with different cultural or religious wedding traditions?

Yes! I started my hair and makeup career primarily doing Indian weddings. It really helped mold my career into learning about others’ walks of life and backgrounds. One of my favorite parts of this industry is getting to experience different cultures, traditions, beauty styles, and family dynamics. Every wedding teaches me something new, and I truly value being part of celebrations that may look different from my own experiences. I always approach each event with respect, adaptability, and a willingness to learn so I can best support my clients and their vision.

What is one thing couples often forget to ask but should?

One thing couples often forget to ask about is what time they’re actually allowed into the getting-ready room on the morning of their Wedding. Sometimes access to the bridal suite isn’t early enough for Hair and Makeup, depending on the amount of services needed, which can initially feel pretty disappointing, but honestly, I think you can end up being a positive thing. I always recommend keeping the getting-ready room as clean and photo-ready as possible for when the photographer arrives. Those beautiful, detailed photos of putting on earrings, slipping your shoes on, your girls helping button or lace your dress, and the champagne toasting are much harder to capture when the room is filled with clutter bags, breakfast leftovers, and empty Starbucks cups. Having hair and Makeup done elsewhere and then getting dressed in a clean, organized bridal suite often creates a much more elevated experience overall.

What makes your business stand out, and why should couples choose you?

My main focus is making sure my clients feel truly heard and understood. If you ask for a soft glam, that’s exactly what you’re going to get. I want you to feel like you’re the only client that matters. I can be the voice of reason when things feel stressful, the comic relief, when nerves kick in, and the calm reminder that everything is still on schedule. I also pay attention to the little things, whether that be noticing when you need a quiet moment, helping with overwhelming emotions, or making sure the morning stays peaceful and drama-free, so you can actually enjoy getting ready.

What is a fun or unusual fact about you or your company?

A fun fact about me is that I thrive in chaos. The buzzing energy, 14 people talking at once, someone steaming a dress in the corner, a bridesmaid losing an earring, coffee everywhere… Somehow, I thrive in it and stay completely calm while making everyone else laugh at the situation instead of feeling stressed. Life shouldn’t be taken so seriously, and it’s better to laugh at the things we can’t control and roll with the punches.

What is your favorite part of the wedding day?

My favorite part of the wedding day is setting up my space. I love laying out my kit just right. I bring everything I need, no matter the location.

Tell us about the couples you love working with.

I love working with clients who trust me to do my thing and keep the day. Easy going. I also love learning from different backgrounds, traditions, and styles I encounter. Every experience helps me grow, and I love bringing that acknowledgment to each new Wedding an event.

What is the story behind your business name?

I spent about 2 1/2 months trying to find the perfect name for my company. I wanted something unique, creative, and meaningful. I’m big on marketing, and a play on words was important to me. I considered names like “Picture Perfect Beauty Bar,” with a theme of Mixology, but it felt too long. Then I played around with the word “Lovely“. “Lovely Beauty Bar, “Lovely You,” “Lovely Day”, but then, it clicked! I dropped all the added words I was struggling to go with, and landed just on LOVELY. Now “lovely” isn’t just a name, it’s woven into everything. The lovely timeline I create for you, the lovely prep letter that I send to you a week before your event, and, of course, at the end of every email, I remind you to “Have a lovely day.” Plus, when someone says, “You look lovely,” they’re also suddenly knotting into my brand. It’s a fun, clever touch that keeps everything connected. 😉

What do you think makes for a truly memorable wedding?

Don’t sweat the small stuff, and do not expect perfection. You can plan all you want, but at the end of the day, things will most likely not go exactly as you planned, and that’s okay. My motto on my wedding day was, “I do, and I don’t care,” Meaning my focus was on saying “I do” and letting the rest go. Remember what really matters.

What is one thing people are surprised to learn about you?

I have a very energetic and bubbly personality, and I find humor in almost everything. But deep down, I am very empathetic and highly attuned to the energy around me, which allows me to support my clients in ways that go far beyond just Hair and Makeup.

I cannot recommend Marie at Lovely Hair & Makeup highly enough!

She did both my hair and makeup, as well as my daughter’s, for our small (but absolutely perfect) garden wedding, and the results were beyond anything I could have imagined. Somehow, Marie achieved that impossible balance of making us look glamorous while still looking completely natural and like ourselves. The makeup enhanced everything without ever feeling overdone, and the hair was flawless.

Not only is Marie incredibly talented, but she’s also funny, kind, beautiful inside and out, and an absolute joy to spend time with. Having her there on such a special day made the entire experience even better.

Everything lasted all day and all night. In fact, I kept putting off my shower because I didn’t want to wash away the gorgeous look she created! And my daughter?
