Frequently Asked Questions
How would you define your "style"?
My style blends romance and fun, with a keen focus on the details of each music genre to create an authentic experience. I believe in honoring the essence of the music while adding my own unique twist, ensuring every performance is both true to its roots and refreshingly original.
What does the process of working with your company look like?
First, I want to understand the vision you have for your event—what tone, atmosphere, and feeling you’d like to create for your special day. From there, I’ll present tailored options and pricing that align with your vision and budget. Once we find the perfect package, I’ll send a contract for review along with booking details. A 50% deposit secures your booking. I also make it a priority to meet with each client well before the event to finalize all details and song selections. This ensures the musicians have plenty of time to prepare and you can focus on enjoying the lead-up to your big day with less on your to-do list!
What is included in your most popular packages?
My most popular package offers the perfect soundtrack for your special day, combining ceremony and cocktail hour music. It includes a lovely 30-minute pre-ceremony set as guests arrive, carefully chosen entrance and exit music, plus any special song requests for key moments such as a unity candle. You’ll also enjoy a seamless flow of music throughout your cocktail hour.
What is a unique tip you tell your couples that is specific to your vendor category?
Remember, there are no wrong choices when it comes to selecting music for your wedding. If a song feels meaningful to you or brings back special memories, that’s all that matters. Trust your instincts—it’s your day, and the music should reflect what makes it uniquely yours. I’m here to support you every step of the way, helping you choose the perfect soundtrack for your celebration.
What current trends have you seen at weddings?
Trend: More couples are opting for soloists or duos (e.g., solo violin with tracks, violin and piano, or violin and harp) to create a more intimate and personal atmosphere. Why: These smaller ensembles offer a more flexible and customizable experience and often work well in both small and large venues. The intimate vibe is particularly popular during ceremonies and cocktail hours.
What advice would you give a couple who is starting the search for the perfect venue?
Choose a venue where you love both the outdoor setting and the rain plan. That way, you’ll feel confident and excited about your day, no matter what the weather brings!

Founder, Violinist + Arranger
Rachel Durrum
After receiving her BA with emphasis in music performance, Rachel spent many years performing and leading music ensembles. She slowly began dipping her toe into solo performance in 2021 and in 2023, Rachel Durrum Music was founded as a way to offer the best of both worlds. Solo Violin AND ensembles… something for everyone!. I love what I do and the variety that comes with it. The office is always something fresh and new and I get to support my clients on some of their most important days.
