About Rocking L Ranch Wedding Barn
Hello! I’m Susan Landfried, owner and founder of Rocking L Ranch Wedding Barn.
Our journey began in 2006 as a working horse barn with 10 stalls. For the first six years, we hosted horse shows, summer riding camps, and kids’ riding programs. But everything changed in 2012, when my daughter chose to marry here on the ranch. That magical day inspired us to share our beautiful space with other couples beginning their own love stories.
In 2013, we hosted our first public wedding—and we’ve been growing ever since. Over the past decade, we’ve celebrated more than 500 weddings, and each one holds a special place in our hearts. Seeing our couples begin their new journey in such a meaningful setting continues to be our greatest joy.
Of course, none of this would be possible without our incredible team of staff and vendors. Their talent, commitment, and care are what make each wedding day truly special.
As I now take a step into the background, I’m excited to introduce Kristen Stewart as the new Manager of Rocking L Ranch. Kristen brings a wealth of experience, professionalism, and creativity. She is also the owner of Signature Moments by Kristen, where she curates unforgettable celebrations with passion and precision. Kristen has already proven to be an incredible asset, and I’m thrilled for the future ahead with her leading the way.

What does a typical wedding day look like?
Your special day begins as you and your bridal party arrive around 10:00 am to get ready in our comfortable and spacious dressing areas. Groom and his party arriving around noon to get ready. The ceremony typically starts between 4:00 and 5:00 pm, when your guests gather for the beautiful outdoor celebration beneath our majestic oak tree by the lake.Following the ceremony, guests enjoy a cocktail hour while the bride and bridal party take photos around the scenic grounds.Next, the reception begins with bridal party introductions and first dances. Dinner is served buffet-style, complete with dishes, charger plates and glassware. Our catering team, will serve your guests from the buffet.After dinner, tables are cleared, the cake cutting takes place.If your package includes a bonfire, it will be lit at dusk, setting the perfect atmosphere for the evening.The rest of the night is filled with fun—bouquet tosses, games of your choice, and dancing that lasts well into the night!About 20 minutes before the reception ends, a “last call” at the bar will be announced. Then, roughly 10 minutes before the end, our coordinator will gather guests in the courtyard for a sparkler exit or last dance—your choice.The DJ will close the night with a heartfelt thank you and farewell.Afterwards, you’ll collect your belongings from the dressing areas while our staff packs up any remaining decor, leftover food, cake, and alcohol, making sure everything is ready for you to take home.

One of our most unforgettable moments happened recently when a couple chose to embrace the unexpected—they danced in the rain.Just as their ceremony came to a close, rain began to fall. Instead of rushing for cover, the bride and groom held each other close and danced under the sky. We quickly set up romantic lighting and cameras to capture the magic of that moment.The result? A breathtaking, spontaneous memory that felt like it was straight out of a movie—raw, real, and full of love.Moments like these are why we do what we do.
Best piece of advice for couples planning a wedding.
Oh, thank you for asking! I always share two pieces of heartfelt advice with couples when they begin the search for their perfect wedding venue:1. Follow your heart, not a checklist.Instead of visiting every venue out there, choose just a few that truly speak to you. When you step onto the property, take a moment to feel the space. Can you picture your wedding there? Can you imagine your guests smiling, the music playing, and you walking down the aisle?But even more important—pay attention to how you’re made to feel during your tour. The person showing you around should make you feel welcomed, supported, and excited. You’re not just booking a venue—you’re choosing the people who will help bring your dream to life.2. Oh my Goodness don’t even get me started,
First off our coordinator Kristen S. Was so amazing! The set up she did and how fast she got it done and how perfect it looked, the fact she’s the one that does all the contacting with all the catering. The photographer, the videographer, the DJ, and the floral helped us out so much as a busy family! The fact that if you give her a vision she can make it come true. The fact that she has fun with you and you can see the enjoyment in her face that she truly loves doing what she does! This barn was amazing. I couldn’t have pictured my wedding any other way, she literally captured what was in our mind. It was more than a blessing to have her be there and be the one to coordinate our wedding! And the fact that they’re down to do fun, things is amazing like they were cool with us doing the pictures and videos in the rain. The DJ was great replaying some songs like it was so perfect! Anyone that does leave a one star rating they’re straight lying because there’s nothing that this lady does that is terrible. She completely killed everything. 10 out of 10
