Almost all wedding professionals find themselves trying to take the behind the scenes pictures or videos straight from their phone while working a wedding day so we thought why not teach all the phone photography tips & tricks? We partnered with Roy Serafin Photography to educate our wedding pros on the best tips and tricks on behind the scenes photos while bringing in The Chaos Coordinator, Shadow, to coordinate and design wedding day stations for our attendees to practice their new knowledge!
We started the event off with learning those tips & tricks from Roy where attendees got a better understanding of anything from how to use different lighting, framing a better image, what they should have their phone camera settings as, and even what potential clients are looking for in those behind the scenes photos,
I attended because I was curious what would be shared about capturing photos at weddings. The best part was hearing ideas for the different types of photos to share about my business, photos of consultation calls, photos of crafting beforehand, and on the day of. And connecting with a few planners and venue managers was very helpful. – Erica with Aloha Erica
Our host for the event, The University Club of Orlando, provided the most amazing space with so many different areas for our event to flow. Being able to have a space with so much furniture and decor already in place was a huge benefit knowing that everything was already designed to fit the feel of the venue and was beautiful! Which is most certainly something their couples get to enjoy as well during hosted weddings including the gorgeous patio with views of downtown.
Not only did the venue provide the gorgeous space they also put together a delicious menu of light bites for our attendees to snack on upon arrival and after our education session giving our attendees an insight into the amazing foods they can provide to couples looking for a venue with an in-house caterer!
After learning more behind the scenes phone photography tips and tricks from Roy, our attendees headed down to the third floor of the University Club of Orlando to put to practice all their new knowledge with stunning wedding day stations designed by The Chaos Coordinator, Shadow! With the help of all of our sponsors we created stations you would expect to find and photograph on wedding day including two amazing tablescapes which our sponsors Flowers by Lesley and Design One helped us bring to life with amazing floral and rental items!
Helping us with all our announcements, guiding guests through the different parts of the event, and keeping the vibes right while our attendees networked and photographed the wedding day stations was the amazing Meagan from Event Concepts.
I decided to attend because I have never been to a Wedding Venue Map networking event and I have never been to this venue before. I also wanted to connect with the new (post pandemic) wedding and events industry, but also hoped to reconnect with past professionals as well.
The best part was reconnecting with two past colleagues, speaking to the venue and vendors in person, sharing info with them about our company and what we do, and overall just getting back to being social again by reconnecting with the events industry.
I connected with many vendors, they all were very friendly and were very motivated to create professional relationships with me.
It was a great networking event! I look forward to the next one. Thank you for having me. – Zujeilly with HelmsBriscoe
While our two designed tables were the main wedding day stations for photographing we also got to feature two cakes including a dessert table from Butter Bliss Bakeshop enhanced with gorgeous “LOVE” marquee lights from Event-Lit.
One of our favorite parts of the event was having a real couple model for our attendees as a “wedding day station” to practice their new phone photography tips. The couple was absolutely stunning in their attire from Solution Bridal & Leonardo 5th Avenue, the bouquet from Flowers by Lesley, along with hair and makeup from Bronze & Glow Beauty.
We had the best time giving our local wedding pros some more education to better their businesses while networking and making great connections with each other. We’re so grateful for all of our sponsors who came together to make this event possible – The Wedding Venue Map team can’t wait for the next one!
