Have you been searching the internet and every wedding planning magazine you can get your hands on for the perfect elegant emerald gold wedding inspiration?
If you’re looking to be inspired this shoot is nothing less than perfect for that role. Hear from the amazing vendor team that put together this special styled shoot showcasing one of our local wedding venues.
“As a Wedding Planner, I work with incredible couples and have the honor of learning more about the deep connection of their love. Learning more about my couple’s love stories is my favorite part of my job and a place where I’m able to gather inspiration and ideas rooted in their story to bring to life on their special day.
When styling and designing a photoshoot, I take this same concept and actually create a “Couple Story Inspiration” in order to spark inspiration for these shoots and execute exactly how I’d move forward planning the design for one of my client couples.
For our Emerald Velvet Feast Winter Styled Shoot I wrote a “Couple Story Inspiration” to not only use for myself but also to provide for my vendors in order to ensure we had the exact same vision to execute this design flawlessly. Below is the “Couple Story Inspiration” I used to create this incredible design:
“Tanner (Groom) and Avery (Bride) met in Dover New Hampshire, a small town known for its unique brick architecture, cozy coffee shops, and beautiful mountain scenery. One of their first dates was a winter hike through the lush tree-lined trails just before the leaves dropped. They were surrounded by the magnificent colors of crimson red, terracotta orange, forest pines, and sunset yellow foliage for their first kiss.
These colors and the winter season became part of their beautiful love story which they hope to bring into their special day this winter.
Avery’s parents are both very successful lawyers. Her father is a very well known retired politician with many friends and colleagues still active in their professions who will be attending the event. Given the high profile guest list and overall vision, Avery has for her special day, this will be a black-tie affair perfectly paired with the warmth and joy of the winter season.
Her vision she’s named “Lush Velvet Winter,” will incorporate luxury velvet textures, rich emerald greens, garland wrapped candelabras, intimate candlelight, and of course, the beauty of the foliage from her hometown, Dover New Hampshire.”
One of the reasons I picked The Howey is #1, my love for a good story. I absolutely love the history behind the mansion. Every room holds a hidden secret that we were able to express when bringing our rich and moody style to life. We took inspiration from the actual walls of the Howey Mansion, the sweeping colors and saturated design helped inspire the colors for our floral.
We didn’t want to take away anything from this gorgeous setting – The mansion is a 7188 square foot, 20 room Mediterranean Revival Style home that truly didn’t need the decor to make it beautiful. Our goal was to rather enhance it. Bring to life a Winter Feast that possibly William John Howey would create for himself!
I always tell my couple’s no matter what decor you pick, what flowers are in your bouquet, who attends your wedding, who’s in your bridal party, or what dress or suit you wear, ALWAYS remember that today, it’s about your love. Stay present with that deep connection and your wildest dreams will come true.
I definitely want to share how amazing this vendor team was to work with. From our initial conversations to bringing the magic to life the day of the shoot, working with everyone on this team was an honor and a pleasure.” – Alayna of Roots To Stems Boutique

“I wanted to create a dreamy and lush winter wedding inspiration for brides to swoon over while working with some of the best in the business, especially Kyle Ryan – our amazing photographer who captured this shoot flawlessly.
My goal was to ensure that the wonderful winter season was captured with the textures we chose and colors, without feeling too “Christmasy.” Don’t get me wrong I LOVE Christmas, but for this winter vision, we wanted to make sure to differentiate our design from the classic holiday choices.
No pines, no red, nothing that screamed “Christmas” but still felt deep, moody, and seasonal while bringing out the best assets of our gorgeous, historic venue. You’ll notice in the florals that our color palette not only complimented our surroundings but also still seized the winter mood and vibe we wanted to create. I’ll also note that during this styled shoot, my original vision took on its own magic and began to reinvent itself as the design came together.
When Lee James Floral and I were putting together the tablescape, we kept saying “gosh aren’t you getting such feast vibes?” With every candle we lit, every floral arrangement placed I could imagine a magical Christmas dinner taking part in the dining room amongst friends, family, and loved ones. We ended up re-naming the styled shoot after seeing the final vision come to life – “Emerald Velvet Winter Feast” – to capture the essence of how our design transformed.
Words are SO powerful, and when you hear the name of this shoot, I hope that the vision we created really comes to life in the eyes of couples to who this design really spoke! As a bonus, I will also note that it was extremely important to me to bring a team of local talent together – a great example of this would be our napkin rings.
Not only did the gold-trimmed cement rings add in a fun texture, but we were also able to work with a local vendor who hand creates unique pieces for our couples, families, and homes! Community is SO important to us and one of the greatest joys of putting together this styled shoot was bringing this amazing community of talent together.
The overall design and vision: strategizing with each vendor, choosing textures, florals, colors, and aspects of the design you see, creation of the amazing powerhouse team and creation of a timeline, setup windows, and all vendor communication. You can say I “quarterbacked” the styled shoot.
This would fall under our Full-Service Package which is around $6,500. However, all of our packages are custom created for each bride based on need and budget. We offer Day of / Month of Coordination as well as Partial Planning. Our packages start at $2,000.” – Alayna of Roots To Stems Boutique Wedding Planning & Events

Beauty Brigade
“I absolutely LOVED the sound of the rich, lux winter details when planner, Roots to Stems (Alayna) explained the theme to me! Plus, after speaking with her one time; her bubbly personality had me SO excited about the shoot, I knew I HAD to participate! I also love meeting and working with new vendors, and so glad I got to work alongside Alayna and the other amazing vendors!
Beauty Brigade provided Chelsea(bride) with a classic low bun updo, as well as a natural, holiday glam makeup look.
The shoot theme incorporated dark emerald green tones, and rich velvet textures, so I knew I wanted to create a look that would compliment the theme. Red lips were a must because after all, red and green enhance one another. For Chelsea’s eye makeup, I utilized warm neutrals and golden tones to compliment the red lips.” – Beauty Brigade
Lee James Floral
“We loved the vision Alayna designed. This was the first time working with her and we were looking forward to it.
We designed fresh floral arrangements and fresh foliage garlands. For the Bridal Bouquet and Boutonniere, we wanted texture and rich deep colors to complement the rest of the decor. For the tablescape, the centerpieces were designed lush using shades of green, caramel, champagne, and silver foliage.
To add a multi-level design we used votive candles, taper candles, and candelabras. The room was further accented with clusters of pillar candles and foliage. For the Ceremony, there were two garden-picked floral columns that framed the couple. These included an assortment of foliage and were accented with fresh flowers and pampas grass. The aisle was accented with clusters of candles and foliage.
The thought of creating a royal feasting table with lots of textures, levels, and rich colors. We love tables that feel substantial and lush, so this was the perfect opportunity.
Tablescape/surrounding accents, Personal Flowers, and Ceremony Decor: $2,750.00” – Lee James Floral

Bakers Cottage Cakes
“Alayna from Roots to Stems asked me to be involved with this shoot and how could I say no to her??? I adore her style and professionalism! She put together a great team of talented vendors, so it was a no brainer. Plus the Howey Mansion is Beautiful!
This petite Three Tier Cake, serving up to 42 guests was created with the idea of an intimate Holiday Celebration. Covered in Green Fondant, then Dry Brushed with Edible Petal Dust to deepen the green and create a suede texture. Embellished with 14KT Gold Leafing and an oversized silk bow. The Large Flower was handmade in our shop using Wafer Paper.
Wedding Venue Map Tip: Don’t forget when looking for elegant emerald gold wedding inspiration, or for any colors and theme, to make your wedding cake extra special, you don’t always have to use decor that are edible or floral. There are other options like this beautiful emerald bow!
Romantic Holiday Celebration was the inspiration.
The cost for this cake, with our Classic Menu Options, 14KT Gold Leafing, and Wafer Flower included, would be, $298.00.” – My Bakers Cottage
Citrus Press Co.
“When Roots to Stems reached out to Citrus Press Co about the styled shoot, the inspiration, and story that Roots to Stems provided was beautiful and painted a vision that I really wanted to be a part of. I loved the venue location and really wanted to create a suite/ design that suited a timeless romantic theme in lush green and gold tones.
Citrus Press Co provided the wedding stationery/ invitation suite as well as the menus and place cards for the reception setting.
Citrus Press Co’s designs have been known to have an element of florals or botanicals within them. The filigree vine design used on the invitation was inspired by the lush greenery setting that the Howey Mansion is located in and I wanted to add that to the final look of the suite. Making the invitation the star of the suite and the remaining pieces more subtle and soft helped make the invitation a beautiful piece.
The full suite with all the wax, seals, lined gold trimmed envelopes, vellum wrap and ribbon and all the stationery pieces would start at $750.” – Citrus Press Co.
