It’s Spotlight Day! Where we introduce you to incredible Orlando wedding vendors and the stories behind their companies who help Wedding Venue Map couples have their best wedding day.
Hiring the right wedding vendors is so important on your wedding day. The vendors create the backdrop of every moment, every picture and every memory. It gives us great pleasure to introduce this week’s vendor spotlight, Jennifer Jenkins of I Do Events.
When people ask “what do you do”, how do you answer?
I make your vision into reality! When a person, couple, or vendor comes to us we treat them as if we were in their shoes and we give it 110% every time! We help create the occasion that couples will never forget and consider as one of the most special days of their lives.
What did you do before you did this?
Before this, I was solely focused on college. I attended Florida State University which is where all the event planning started, in the midst of this I did all of my doctoral internships in Miami, FL and eventually opened the company there. While attending medical school to become a pediatrician, I realized that although it was an awesome career choice it was not my truest passion which is what led to me solely focusing on my company.
When and how did you get into the wedding industry?
After spending six years planning events and weddings for corporations, I decided to take the leap and start the company back in 2014 in Miami, FL. I turned my organizational skills, attention to detail, and love for weddings into a full-time career ever since and was fortunate enough to expand into Orlando, FL in 2019.
What is your favorite thing about what you do? What’s your WHY?
The people we meet in this business! When working with couples, you get to meet so many different personalities and you get to hear their story which is always beautiful to hear and see. Watching the vendors come together and working with us to make these events exceptional is another thing that I love. In this line of business, you get to make people smile constantly and making others happy makes us happy!
What motivates you to do this every day?
Motivation, as defined, is the general desire or willingness of someone to do something. What motivates me is simple, success. Knowing that my hard work allows me to achieve so much is what keeps me going!
What is the best compliment you have received from your clients?
The best compliment that we have received from our clients is that we are very personable and they feel as if they were working with a very close friend. One of our brides told us that she wished they had us making her personal decisions as well because we are just that good! It warms our hearts when we get compliments!
What types of events do you specialize in?
Weddings and private events are what we solely focus on, but we are open to the idea of doing other kinds of events.
Why do couples hire you?
We care! We do what we do because we love it and that smile on the couple’s face is what keeps us going! We listen to our couple’s needs and make sure they get exactly what they are looking for.
What does your most popular package include?
Our all-inclusive is our most popular package. It comes with a lot of incentives for our couples! We understand weddings are very expensive, so not only do we try and work with the couple, but we also include several things within the package!
What are the most common questions you get asked by brides and/or grooms?
Most of our couples always ask, “do we really need a coordinator?”. Our company is very big on integrity and we will never recommend something that is not necessary, but one thing that is needed no matter what is a planner; even if it is just a day of coordinator. When it comes to getting married, a planner and/or coordinator is necessary to glue all the pieces together. We do all the little things that couples should not have to worry about on their big day!
The best piece of advice for brides or grooms?
Love each other unconditionally!
Tell us three venues that you enjoy working at and why.
1. W Hotel in Miami, FL because they always cater not only to their clients’ needs but the vendors as well. They always make it so effortless to work with them!
2. Crystal Ballroom in Orlando, FL because they do an all in 1 and give the clients an opportunity to stay within reach of their budget! The staff is amazing and everyone cares about you as a person, client or vendor!
3. Renaissance hotel in Santo Domingo because although they work with people all over the world, they treat you like family and remember you. You are not just a contact with them and that makes it so much easier to connect and work with them.
Here is what some previous couples had to say…
“Seriously! These girls saved my life!!!! I went for the all-inclusive option and I don’t regret a thing! From start to finish they helped me all the way. They did things I didn’t even know I needed. My day was beyond perfect thanks to them. The owner, Jennifer, is such a sweetheart and actually cares about your needs. Most wedding planners I called were all about money and extra fees, but not here. I can never thank them enough. If you want a perfect day, I highly suggest you come to these girls. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!” – Rachel B.
“From the day I spoke to Jennifer on the phone I swear I felt the connection. She even told me to call around to other planners because she wanted me to weigh my options! Of course, I came right back to her! She is so honest and knows what she’s doing. She was on top of everything and that was my biggest concern! My husband and I loved how she handled our wedding that she now is planning our baby shower! Thank you, Jennifer!” – Raquel K.
“My husband and I had an intimate destination wedding in Puerto Rico. I thought that being that it was a destination wedding, I would have a good wedding planner, but that was not the case for me. I reached out to I Do Events about 3 months before my wedding and I when I tell you that Jennifer and her assistant were able to turn everything around is no joke! She even made sure that my marriage documents were sent (I did not even know how to do that). Love these girls!” – Josie S.
