It gives us great pleasure to introduce this week’s venue spotlight, Kim Tran of Pearl White Events.
When people ask “what do you do?” how do you answer?
We are certified wedding planners dedicated to help our clients plan, curate, and coordinate the perfect event.
What did you do before you did this?
I did something completed non-related to the wedding industry. I was a recruiter for a therapy staffing company and helped find jobs for physical, occupational, and speech therapists who wanted short-term contracted jobs.
When and how did you get into the wedding industry?
I actually got into the wedding industry back in 2009 after I graduated from college. I interned for someone who did event catering and coordination. I was with her for nearly two years when she retired and told me I needed to start my own company. However, I didn’t start Pearl White Events until 2013.
How long would you say you’ve been doing what you do today?
It’s been six years since we started Pearl White Events and we’re still going strong! We learn each and every day and are always innovating for a better client experience.
How did your work evolve to get you to where you are today?
We believe that every couple getting married should have an enjoyable experience on their special day.
We started Pearl White Events with our couples in mind. We are are committed to providing quality service, leaving no detail behind. We listen to our clients’ needs, utilize our professional vendors, and apply our knowledge of the industry to plan and execute the perfect event. This has enabled us to provide consistent service and lasting connections with our clients and others in the industry.
What is your favorite thing about what you do? What’s your WHY?
Our favorite part of the planning process is the design aspect. We love colors, flowers, textiles, and textures. When we sit down with our clients, we want to learn about their personality, likes, and preferences.
Tell us about your most memorable event so far and why it was.
When our bride, Laura (who happens to be one of our wedding coordinators!), surprised her now-husband, Thomas, by singing the sweetest song as she made her way down the ceremony aisle.
Very few people knew she was doing this and certainly not him! The best part? He didn’t know he was already on her soundtrack. You’re probably wondering how. Well, the musical director at their church asked Thomas to “help” him play some drum beats for a “new track” he was working on. He didn’t tell him what it was for. The musical director was able to incorporate those drum beats into Laura’s soundtrack in which she sang. Everyone cried. Everyone.
What’s the best part of your job?
Getting hugs and “squeals” from my happy clients and their family. It melts my heart every time.
What is the best compliment you’ve received from your clients?
My client, Gianna, wrote me a handwritten card that reads, “Kim, I can say with confidence that the stress-free, peaceful, and excited mood I’m in now, and will be the day-of, are all thanks to you! I’m a host; my mother taught me to cater to my guests. It’s your poise, professionalism, and grace that rested my heart. I knew my guests, friends, and family were in good hands! Thank you for your hard work, get-it-done mentality, and commitment to my dreams and visions. We both were able to “soak it all in” and relax on our first day of Mr. & Mrs!”
My heart melts every time I look at the card. It’s displayed on my board at the office to reminds me that I have a duty to my clients to make their day easy and stress-free.
How did you decide on the name of your company?
We wanted a name that was timeless and classy. We wanted something that we can represent and feel proud of 10, 20, 30 years from now. Pearls have long been associated with women who have made an impact on this country through their sense of style of being classic, posh, feminine, and timeless.
What makes your business stand out from others in your category?
We aim to execute each event flawlessly and are committed to saving you valuable time and energy so that you may experience your event with the utmost peace of mind and joy, as you should.
While keeping your budget in mind, we create a wedding that is reflective of your style. We’re not afraid of giving our clients the honest truth. We will advise our clients on what’s “worth it” and what they can pass on. We’re always on the hunt for great deals, professional services, and quality products so that our clients can have the best planning experience with Pearl White Events.
We’re not the most expensive nor the most inexpensive. We price our services based the value we provide to our clients. We always go above and beyond the call of duty because we get it. Weddings can be overwhelming, so we will do everything we can do iron out any details for a smooth planning process.
What is the most unique service/product you offer?
We love designing for our clients! I’d like to think it’s one of our fortes. We constantly look for inspiration so we can do unique elements that WOW everyone.
What types of events do you specialize in?
We specialize in weddings that are classy, elegant, and romantic with a hint of glam. We can coordinate large-scale weddings of more than 300 to intimate ones of less than 30. We also have a strong knowledge of Asian-ethnic cultures!

We offer Day-of Assistance, Month-of Coordination, and Design packages.
We provide a flexible price range so as to create a comfortable customization experience for our clients, provide them with the most genuine service, and tap into their truest essence. We know no boundaries when it comes to the services we provide and the lengths that we will go to provide our clients with the most magical and memorable events.

What is your best piece of advice for brides or grooms?
Be honest regarding your sense of style, taste, and pockets. We know weddings can get pricey but, with proper planning advice from wedding professionals, you’ll be able to enjoy your wedding as you should. Before you make a decision on anything, ask yourself: “What type of experience will I be creating?”
What do you think are the biggest misconceptions that people have about your category?
We can only hope that one can see the value of a wedding planner on their big day.
Wedding planners provide an intangible service that creates tangible results. We are the “maestro” on the event day, making sure everything flows harmoniously. We have a lot of type-A clients but you have to remember…you only have two hands, two feet, and one head. You won’t be able to do everything yourself. Think of us as an extension of you!
Name three unique venues that you enjoy working at and why.
We absolutely love working at the Luxmore Grande Estate, Rosen Shingle Creek, and The Acre Orlando.
