It gives us great pleasure to introduce Jamie Brown of Pink Peonies Weddings and Events.
What did you do before you did this?
I come from an interior design background. I originally went to school for commercial design. This would probably explain why I love the design aspect of planning a wedding so much! From color schemes to floral decor. Taking a space and turning it into some unique is one of my favorite parts!
When and how did you get into the wedding industry?
I started wedding planning when I got engaged! I enjoyed wedding planning so much I knew this was my calling. I took the leap and never looked back!
What is your favorite thing about what you do? What’s your WHY?
My favorite part about planning a wedding is the room reveal. When the last candle is lit we invite the bride and groom into the reception before any guests. All the hard work, months of planning and their vision has come to life. Seeing the look on their faces and sometimes teas of joys make my job so worth it!
What motivates you to do this every day?
My clients! I take great pride in getting to know my clients on a more personal level. I love being the one they can reach out to for any advice or sometimes just to vent. To help them keep their mind at ease and really enjoy planning their dream wedding together as a team!
What is the best compliment you have received from your clients?
I always love meeting new people and asking them ” how did you hear about me!” When they say I came highly recommended by a friend, it makes me so happy that I made such an impact on my brides!
How did you decide on the name of your company?
The story behind my company name is a little sad. When I decided it was time for me to take this great big jump into owning my own business I had to come up with a name that meant something to me. I lost my sister a few years ago. She was my best friend, she was always telling me to just go for it. I knew I wanted to honor her somehow. It was the morning of my sister’s birthday, the first one without her here, I was sent a floral arrangement of Pink Peonies. Pink was her favorite color and Peonies was my favorite flower. It was then I knew this would be the perfect combination of the two of us for my company name!
What is important for clients to know about your company before they book you?
How important it is to have a wedding planner. With all the time and money put into this event is so important to hire someone you can trust to make decisions, that are organized and professional. Someone you feel comfortable having take over and make your dream wedding stress-free!
What type of events do you specialize in?
Anything and everything to do with Weddings!!
Why do couples hire you?
I honestly think it’s my personality! I am very down to earth, I have a huge vision and a very creative mind. I feel like once you meet me you feel like you’ve known me for years! I really listen to my clients. I am very responsive and easy to get a hold of. 🙂
The best piece of advice for brides or grooms.
Remember this day is about YOU! Don’t stress about the things that are out of your control. Take a deep breath and enjoy all the little moments! It goes by way too fast.
