It gives us great pleasure to introduce this week’s vendor spotlight, Rebecca Lang of Live Love Laugh Events Co.
When people ask “what do you do?” how do you answer?
I create memories. I consider myself a #memorymaker. From the moment I speak with a potential client, I want to create a lasting memory. When it comes to bringing your vision to life during an event, that is a new memory I make a point to create. My goal is to be there every step of the way: guiding, educating, and ensuring that this journey is amazingly memorable. Yes, the average answer is I am an event and wedding planner, but I am not your average kind of girl!
What did you do before you did this?
Before entering the event industry, I was in sales and going to college to be an educator.
When and how did you get into the wedding industry?
My interest in the wedding industry started after I planned and TRIED to coordinate my own wedding nine years ago. (I DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT!) For the next few years, I tried to help all of my friends and families with all of their weddings and events. I took it upon myself to help everyone not stress like I did planning my wedding. So about seven years ago, I was at a crossroads with work and school. I decided to pursue my new passion for events. I started emailing every event-related business to see if someone would let me shadow them or volunteer with them. One place did, Heathrow Country Club. I learned so much there! From sales to event coordination it was a great start to getting into the wedding industry! Soon, I became a certified wedding planner and the rest is still being written 🙂
What is your favorite thing about what you do? What’s your WHY?
My favorite thing about what I do is connecting with my clients and helping them really live in the moment of their wedding day. With all of the work and effort leading up to that special day, my main goal is for them to sit back and enjoy! Enjoy seeing, feeling, experiencing everything that you dreamt about. The part of the night when you check with them and the couple gives you the biggest and tightest hug to say thank you! That is why I do what I do 🙂
What motivates you to do this every day?
What motivates me is the chance to share what I know and what I love with couples that ask for help. Again, I took the pain reference from my own wedding and transformed it into a passion. As long as I keep the true purpose of helping clients live in the moment, love every minute, and laugh at the memories, I will continue to do this every day!
What is the best compliment you’ve received from your clients?
The best compliment I’ve received from my clients is a mixture of things. The one that sticks out the most would be from a client that had to get a wedding coordinator because the venue required it. The bride felt as if she had everything done and taken care of and that a planner/coordinator was unnecessary. But the day after the wedding, that same bride told me that she stands corrected. That I really helped her in a way she didn’t realize she needed but was grateful to have. 😀
How did you decide on the name of your company?
Can I say it was from my first tattoo? LOL! I do have a tattoo that says Live Love Laugh in Japanese (hopefully!). I’ve believed in that mantra for a very long time. After my wedding, I kept telling everyone how I missed the moment. I wasn’t living in the moment of saying ” I do” to my future husband, I was partially thinking about the candles for cocktail hour and if they were lit! SMH. After thinking of the reason why I want to be part of the wedding industry, it led me back to my tattoo and mantra. So every client wedding or not: I want to them to LIVE in the moment, LOVE every minute, and LAUGH at the memories.
Tell us about your favorite type of engaged couple.
I love couples that are fun and ready to make a decision on what they want for their wedding day. And if you don’t know what you want yet, then couples that are ready to learn and be guided by my company are my favorite kind of clients.
Why do couples hire you?
Well not to sound boastful, but I have heard it is because of my smile and energy. I still keep a smile on whether under pressure or bustling your dress. However, not only because of this killer smile (thanks to four years of braces!) but because of the knowledge that I bring. I love educating couples and what works and what doesn’t FOR THEM. No two couples are the same. I guess that education degree is being used for something 😉
Name three unique venues that you enjoy working at and why.
Arundel Estates: This estate is absolutely gorgeous. The outdoor cocktail pool and reception patio is a dream. The team is great and everywhere you turn is a picture perfect view. Did I mention the lavender fields behind the patio? Gorgeous!
The Acre Orlando: This is a fun outdoor venue and no two corners are the same! Clients can really transform the space into what they need it to be.
Heathrow Country Club: I love this venue because I know it like the back of my hand. With four different spaces to host an event, you can create so many memories on your wedding day. Set on a beautiful golf course, you have greenery for miles and miles.
