What is the maximum guest count?
We accommodate up to 175 guests for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. We offer parking and complimentary valet services for your guests.
Are there additional fees?
Our venue rental is subject only to Florida state sales tax, no hidden fees or service charges.
What is your vendor policy?
We require the use one of our four exceptional catering partners for catering and bartending services. You have open choice for all other vendors. We will provide you with our extensive Trusted Event Partner List and guide you through the vendor selection process.
How do I reserve my date?
Your date will be officially reserved once we receive your 10% retainer and signed contract. We offer convenient online booking and an easy monthly payment schedule.
Who will take care of setup and breakdown my event?
The venue staff and your vendors will take care of all the setup, breakdown and clean up, giving you peace of mind as you head off on your honeymoon!
Are there accommodations nearby?
Yes! In addition to many Airbnb’s in the downtown Sanford Historic District, there are great hotels located nearby, with several offering the option of a shuttle service for your guests.
Do I need to have event insurance?
Yes, and the 1902 team will purchase a Day-of-Event Liability Policy for you, in your name. The $200 policy purchase fee will be billed after your Final Details Meeting with our planners.
What is your alcohol policy?
You are able to buy your own alcohol or order it through your caterer. There are no required minimums. All alcohol will be served by the bartenders provided in your catering package.

Her dream became a reality when she transformed a century-old grammar school into what is now Historic Venue 1902. My husband and I got engaged in May 2023 and when it came to searching for a venue, there were so many things to consider; venue size, location, charm, accommodations, and most importantly, price! We checked out multiple venues and this one checked all the boxes! When I walked in the first time, I fell in love with the charm the place had and loved how unique it was! For starters, the venue was stunning and it spoke for itself! The get ready spaces were the biggest I’d seen of all the venues we visited; super spacious and could easily fit 8+ people in there without feeling crammed! I also loved that the venue offered a day-of coordinator to help ensure everything goes smoothly on wedding day. They hosted multiple “open house” events, which allowed people to come in and speak with different vendors they typically work with, such as catering, DJ, flowers, etc. This was such an awesome idea because otherwise I would have no clue where to start for finding out vendors! It also allowed us to see the venue with different styles of decor and it gave us ideas for what we would want for our wedding day too! Speaking of which, the venue had a plethora of decor to choose from which could be rented which was really nice! When it came to planning, the venue offered a portal which was the primary form of communication with the staff members, they were quick to respond and super helpful! All of this for a very reasonable price too!! In May 2024, my husband and I got married here and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice!! On the day of and the days after, we had so many of our friends and family coming up to us, sharing how much they loved the venue! We would certainly recommend this venue to anyone who’s looking to get married! I hope to visit again one day for a loved one’s wedding, because I truly could not get enough of this beautiful building!❤️ BIG THANK YOU to the staff members of Historic venue of 1902, who made our special day so beautiful and memorable!!

Venue 1902 is the perfect wedding venue for a beautiful, stress-free day! From the first tour and meeting with Aleshia, everyone we met with or spoke to from the venue was so kind, patient, and they truly cared about making our big day special.
Our day-of coordinators (Adriana, Ady, and Haley) were incredibly kind and so well-organized. We supplied our own decor and had vendors dropping off floral/favors/cake- everything from load-in and set-up of the decor to teardown and load-out went seamlessly. If any issues arose, they were solved and I didn’t know and had no stress on my wedding day.
On top of incredible people working to ensure your wedding is perfect, the venue itself is beautiful. The bridal suite is perfect for getting-ready photos, the courtyard is wonderful for first looks and family portraits, and the whole space is bright and airy. We highly recommend getting married at Venue 1902!

I cannot say enough good things. From the start me and my husband knew we were going to book here. They made us feel welcome and we knew were going to be well taken care of. They checked in with us multiple times during the year and a half we had to our wedding date from booking. We met wit the team for design consultations where the knowledgeable staff offered helpful tips and creative solutions to any issues we were having along the way. About 1 month out they had a final details meeting with us which helped us feel more prepared for the wedding day itself with out this i would have had no idea what to expect. On rehersal day we went over the details to make sure everything was perfect. On our wedding day there was no lack of attentiveness from the staff. We always had someone close incase there was a question and they were able to take my decor photos and execute it perfect. If I could do it all over again, I would book with Historic venue 1902 every single time

Venue 1902 is an incredible venue and the team there is AMAZING! The whole space makes the wedding day special as there are so many areas to enjoy. We loved the rooms for getting ready and our guests still haven\’t stopped talking about the charm and the location. Plus, all of our guests found historical homes to enjoy for the weekend in DT Sanford. It was perfect!
The team has great recommendations for other vendors to use which was really helpful.
