In January, Wedding Venue Map celebrated our new spring edition reveal at our Sip, See and Celebrate. We host this event twice a year when each new edition of the map is completed. At the event, we showcase our updated maps, share them with our local pros, network with old friends and meet new ones.
Many of the attendees had something to share about the event, the venue, and us. Get some insight into their thoughts below.
This Winter Park event also gave us an opportunity to showcase two separate properties, the Hilton Garden Inn Winter Park and the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Winter Park.
Jenn Warrington, Owner, PARTY SHOTS ORLANDO: In January, we attended the Sip, See, & Celebrate event that was held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Winter Park. What a great hidden gem right in the middle of Winter Park! The venue was gorgeous and the staff was amazing! I love how The Wedding Venue Map showcases all of Central Florida’s venues. It was a great opportunity to not only see new spaces but also a great opportunity to network with other vendors.
Todd McCabe, Owner, KMD CREATIONS: What I adore about WVM events/gatherings/celebrations is that it is centered around relationship building and peer communicating as opposed to being filled with an agenda of useless pointless activities or lackluster speakers. Opportunities like this event give us a chance to chat, catch up, share ideas, laugh, console, and help each other grow as businesses and as people. Gratsi!
This event also provided the opportunity for a few of our members to sponsor the event and showcase their unique services. It’s always amazing when the community of people, co-workers, and companies that are in the wedding industry come together. The concept of having a two-hour event, with finger foods gives everyone ample time to spend making good quality connections and not losing an hour sitting for a meal.
With lite bites of meatballs, chicken skewers, and eggrolls with a sweet sauce, along with beer and wine provided by the Hilton Garden Inn guests could enjoy a nibble after work.
Delicious cupcakes provided by Sweet by Holly, along with more wine and beer at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Winter Park, encouraged vendors to go between the two venues to see the spaces available and check out the new rooms.
Each of the venues not only showcased their brand new and updated hotel rooms but also showed various room sets their other spaces that could be used for any number of wedding weekend events. Everything from morning-after brunches, rehearsal dinners, or family gathering cocktail hours, all centrally located in beautiful Winter Park.
Elise Van der Lee, Owner, ELISE VAN DER LEE PHOTOGRAPHY: I loved the Sip, See & Celebrate meeting. The hospitality of both hotels was great and I got to connect with my vendor friends and meet new vendors in the wedding industry. I love connecting with other people and see how we can help each other. The best part was that I met a fellow Dutchman :-).
VIP Transportation Services provided a luxuriously large and comfortable sprinter can to transport guests from one front door to another. Although not too far apart, the ride was appreciated by many!
Albis Caliman, Sales Specialist, LUXE FLUSH: Thank you for having us at the map release event yesterday! We decided to attend since we are proud trusted vendors with you. We love your events, they’re so fun and the attention to detail is there for sure. The best part was definitely the ability to go back and forth between sites. Incredibly interactive and helpful when looking at both hotels.
No event Wedding Venue Map has is ever complete without the finishing touches of Connie Duglin Linens. For this event, Connie Duglin Linens decorated with tablecloth fabrics including the Calypso, Fiji Leaves, and Apple Bengaline. All provided a tropical vibe to compliment the creative and unique florals of orchids and lush greenery provided by Atmosphere Floral and Decor.
It was great to have Spirit Box Films catch all the live-action with video (go back to the top and watch the video). Devon was certainly able to gather video and show what one of our events is like. If you weren’t able to make it or if you just want to revisit the fun, he did a great job. It also allows us to show off our vendors and their products in a real environment, as well as all the happy faces of our guests.
Thank you to Al Dee Productions for capturing the photos to share the fun from our new spring edition reveal at our Sip, See and Celebrate.
Ann Taylor, Owner, A CHAIR AFFAIR, INC.: When you have the opportunity to network with one of the smartest people in our marketplace, you go. Shannon Tarrant, owner of the Wedding Venue Map, is the real deal. She seems to know just what the vendors in the area need. She is a connector of people and businesses. Every time I go to a meeting or event representing A Chair Affair, an event rental company, I meet someone new that I want to connect with, or I learn something useful. I highly recommend joining us soon.
Lights and sounds were also provided inside by Al Dee Productions. He’s multitalented and was certainly busy, between the music and photography. He was engaging all of us with good music, creating smiles, and then capturing them.
Upon arrival at the hotel, Reggie from RLE3 was there playing saxophone. His sultry sounds were perfect to sit and enjoy next to the firepit.
Lexi Rabelo, Owner, LEXI RABELO FILMS: I had such a great time at the event! My hubby and I are a wedding video team, new to the Orlando area, so we went to make some new “friendors” and we met some incredible people! Wedding Venue Map has a fantastic team that is so warm and helpful and the group they bring together is so genuine. If you didn’t make it, GO TO THE NEXT ONE! I can’t recommend it enough.
The team from The Bridal Finery hosted a crown bar for guests to enjoy the beautiful pieces that every bride has the opportunity to own.
Molly M. Meeker, Director of Sales & Marketing, CROWNE PLAZA ORLANDO DOWNTOWN: Last night was fabulous! It is so good to see everyone, old and new in our industry. Events like the one last night prove that the events industry here in Central Florida is strong and thriving. As always you and your team always bring the fun, education, and of course the laughter to each Wedding Venue Map event!!!
Tee Rogers, Humanist, HUMANIST CELEBRANT ORLANDO: It was a wonderful time connecting with other wedding professionals and learning about resources & referrals to share with couples. Thanks, Shannon – you’re awesome. It was really great to meet you in person as well. Thank you for the work that you’re doing, not only as it uplifts small business wedding professionals but as it allows us to connect and support one another. This is important stuff! Thanks for the difference you make for our community of wedding vendors – by creating a community of wedding vendors.
Andrea Rowlison, Owner/Trombonist, Orlando Ensembles & Bands, MUSIC REMEMBRANCE: I attended the event to support the new map kickoff and see friends. It was great to catch up with friends and I was blessed to meet some new wonderful people. Later that night I was able to refer a bride to one of the new vendors that I met. That’s the magic of Wedding Venue Map mixers!. 🙂
Barbara J. White, CFO & Co-Owner, VIP TRANSPORTATION SERVICES: Awesome event and networking opportunity, thank you for hosting.
Erica Frogner, Guitarist/Musician, ALOHA ERICA: The event yesterday was so much fun! I decided to attend so that I could see the new map, pick some up to give to people, and meet other vendors who were there. I ended up making four amazing new connections with vendors I’m excited to work with including an officiant, videographer, planner, and venue manager. While there I also ran into one of my new favorite photographers and loved getting to reconnect with her. I’m even going to invite the people I met to happy hour or a bonfire so we can get to know each other better soon. Thank you for making those connections possible!
Cliff Smith, Owner, SOL RISE ENTERTAINMENT: Thank you for hosting a great event at the Hilton Garden Inn and Springhill Suites. The reason I chose to attend this event was that I have wanted to know more about Wedding Venue Map and the benefits of membership. In addition to networking, we were able to check out two newer venues in the area. It was great seeing fellow vendors whom I have met in the industry and meeting new ones. Networking events like these allow for vendors to come together, learn about other businesses and create opportunities for new business. Thanks, Wedding Venue Map!
If you missed this event, we’ll look forward to seeing you at the next Wedding Venue Map event. Check here for our upcoming events.
