An elegant wedding doesn’t have to mean a serious one. Liv and Tron’s elegant Sydonie Mansion wedding in Mount Dora paired an ivory and champagne color palette, classic black and white attire and romantic details with plenty of personality, creating a celebration that felt polished without losing the fun.
College sweethearts Liv and Tron found ways to bring pieces of their story into the day from beginning to end. Tron played football in college, so he and his groomsmen kicked off the celebration with an NFL-style entrance wearing their college jerseys before changing into tuxedos. Even Tron’s custom white tux included a personal detail, with their wedding date and initials hidden inside.
Sydonie Mansion gave them several different settings to create moments throughout the wedding. They held their ceremony on the front lawn, gathered in the garden for cocktail hour and shared private vows together surrounded by greenery. Later in the evening, the mansion’s rooftop balcony became the backdrop for Liv’s second-dress reveal.
Some of the most meaningful details had little to do with the overall aesthetic. Liv and Tron jumped the broom to honor family heritage, incorporated special moments with family throughout the day and made sure their two dogs, Layla and Fifi, were part of the celebration. Having Fifi there became especially meaningful to the couple. She was very sick at the time of the wedding and passed away just one week later, making the photographs they were able to capture together even more special.
And then there was the fun. College jerseys, heart-shaped sunglasses, a champagne tower, cold sparklers, cold smoke and a second reception look all found their place alongside the elegant florals, formal attire and warm candlelight. None of it needed to perfectly match to belong.
Because an elegant wedding can still have a whole lot of personality.
How to Make an Elegant Sydonie Mansion Wedding Feel Like You
Choosing an elegant wedding style doesn’t mean every detail has to feel formal, traditional or perfectly coordinated. Some of the most memorable weddings start with a beautiful overall aesthetic, then make room for the people, traditions and unexpected details that tell the couple’s real story.
Let your story inspire the details.
You don’t need a wedding theme to make your celebration feel personal. Think about the places, experiences, hobbies and memories that are part of your relationship. For Liv and Tron, their college love story became part of the celebration through the groom and groomsmen’s jersey entrance. It didn’t match the ivory and champagne color palette, and it didn’t need to. It belonged because it meant something to them.
Don’t let your wedding style become a rulebook.
Words like elegant, romantic or classic can help guide your design decisions, but they shouldn’t limit them. Heart-shaped sunglasses, a champagne tower, an outfit change or a completely unexpected reception entrance can live right alongside formal attire, beautiful florals and candlelight. Your wedding style should give you a starting point, not a list of rules you have to follow.
Make room for meaningful traditions.
Not every memorable wedding detail is something you can see in a tablescape. Liv and Tron jumped the broom to honor family heritage and intentionally included family throughout their celebration. Think about the traditions, people or meaningful moments you want to carry with you into your marriage, then make space for them in the wedding day.
Include the people and pets you’ll want to remember.
If someone matters to your story, don’t be afraid to think beyond what is traditionally included in a wedding. That can mean creating time for a first look with a parent, inviting someone meaningful to participate in the ceremony or finding a way to include a beloved pet. Liv and Tron’s decision to include Layla and Fifi gave them photographs that became even more meaningful than they could have known at the time.
Your wedding can be elegant and meaningful, polished and playful, traditional in some ways and completely unexpected in others. Liv and Tron’s elegant Sydonie Mansion wedding is a beautiful reminder that the details that don’t perfectly fit the aesthetic may be the ones that make the celebration feel most like yours.
