We love a great proposal story, don’t you? When Victoria reached out to share her story, we knew that we wanted to feature Victoria and Nathan’s anniversary marriage proposal story.
Share with us when and how you met each other.
We met a few years ago at our college campus ministry. We were just hanging out with some mutual friends.
What are your favorite things to do together as a couple?
We love doing puzzles, going for walks and drives. We also enjoy going to the movies. Hanging out with friends.
How long were you together before getting engaged?
A few days shy of a year.
Did anyone help with the anniversary marriage proposal?
No
Share your marriage proposal story…
We were in Dallas where I currently live. We had gone out to dinner to celebrate our one-year anniversary early, and we were just having a good time spending quality time together. When we got back to my apartment, he told me to set my things down and join him on the couch to watch a movie. After I set my longs down on the table (like I do every day), I turned around and Nathan was standing there.
Just a few feet away with a little purple box in his hand, Nathan looked at me and said “I think we both knew this was gonna happen at some point. Victoria Ferguson, will you marry me?” The whole time I was smiling so big, my face went numb after a while, but I looked him in the eye and said “Yes, of course, I’ll marry you.”
What was the best moment of the proposal?
It was a surprise to me!
Who did you tell that you were engaged first?
My family, parents, and siblings.
Tell us about the ring!
The ring was his mom’s first wedding set, it’s definitely going to be my “something old”. It’s a round cut, center diamond.
How over-emphasized society makes it. When you know that you are going to marry a person, you have peace about it. But it’s when the engagement happens that it becomes a reality that you are really going to marry this person.
Getting to say fiancé for me, for Nathan it’s the relief that he’s asked the big question and can relax now.
What are you most excited about wedding planning?
For Nathan it’s the food, for me it would have to be the location.
If you’ve already decided, when are you getting married and what is your venue?
We are getting married on July 2nd, on my family’s farm in Missouri.
Why did you choose that venue?
The farm has had just a huge part in my life growing up, and I’ve said since I was little that I was going to get married on the farm.

Even though we haven’t set a hard number budget, we are looking at inexpensive options and keeping expenses down.
What’s your wedding style?
Classy and rustic.
Have you selected any other vendors for your wedding?
Still making those decisions.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with Wedding Venue Map readers?
We are both extremely eager for the big day to be here.
Congratulations Victoria and Nathan on your anniversary marriage proposal!
