It gives us great pleasure to introduce Tali Gallo of The Bridal Finery.
How long would you say you’ve been doing what you do today?
I started in bridal fashion in 2004. I’ve been styling brides for 15 years. The whole team at the Bridal Finery comes from years of experience in fashion and wardrobing.
How did your work evolve to get you to where you are today?
For thirteen years I managed a high-end bridal boutique. During that time I was able to learn from the owner, interact with brides every day, and be trained by the designer. I’ve sat through years of alteration fittings and bridal appointments to learn the ins and outs of the bridal fashion industry. In 2017, I decide to partner with my Co-Manager and open The Bridal Finery. The years of experience managing a bridal boutique prepared us to open The Bridal Finery!
What motivates you to do this every day?
I love helping people feel beautiful! It’s so fulfilling to find someone the right dress and accessories. The moment they find the dress, there is so much emotion. Brides tell me “I’ve never felt this beautiful before.” Or brides just feel so much peace of mind when they find the dress. Every single appointment is unique.
What fun-fact would people be surprised to learn about you?
I’m actually not a girly-girl. I love spending time with my family outdoors and I like my jeans.
What is the most unique service/product you offer?
We offer dresses for immediate purchase. You don’t have to wait 6-9 months for your wedding dress to be made. Many times brides are working with wedding dates available at a particular venue they want. We can accommodate clients getting married in one month or in years. This simplifies the whole process. For most of our inventory, we will only sell one of each dress. This makes your whole experience more exclusive.
What makes your business stand out from others in your category?
The experience the whole team has set us apart. The whole team has extensive experience from fashion design schools, working with designers, working for other bridal boutiques, to styling for photoshoots. Roberta and I own the bridal boutique together. I believe we are the only boutique where you can find an owner here every day. We are very hands-on and that is how it will always be. We are committed to giving a certain level of customer service.
Tell us about your ideal client.
Our ideal client cares about the quality of service and product. We are all about finding nice designer dresses to feel fancy on your wedding day! Along the process, we want to be available for you.
Why do you think your business is successful?
We care about every client that walks through our door. We offer an updated experience to the traditional bridal experience. We spent years mastering what works and what doesn’t. We kept things from a traditional bridal boutique that work but weren’t afraid to update things that weren’t working.
What is your best piece of advice for someone that just got engaged?
Come in and try on dresses! It’s way harder to discover what you like looking through a sea of white dresses online.
What current trends have you seen at weddings that you personally like the most?
Hairpieces use to be an afterthought and now they are super popular. Sometimes a petite hairpiece is the perfect finishing touch or if you have more of a simple gown, an elaborate piece gives the touch of glam. I love how hairpieces and other accessories really make the look even more personal.
What do you think are the biggest misconceptions that people have about your vendor category?
Most of my brides have this mindset that it’s going to be really hard to find the right wedding dress. We are professionals. We live and breathe the bridal industry. We are here to make this easy for you so you can enjoy the process. Most of our clients find their dress within the first three wedding dresses they try on. Everyone is different and we respect all journeys of finding the dress, but it is way easier than the shows make it seem.
Tell us 3 venues that you enjoy working at and why…
Alfond Inn. We love partnering with the Alfond Inn for special events. With our boutique located in the Winter Park area, we share many of the same clients. For our anniversary party, we used their courtyard area which is such a beautiful option for indoor and outdoor weddings.
The Acre. For our outdoorsy couple, we love the Acre. It can be dressed up or down. There are endless options in this space. It’s a true Florida vibe. We love the intimate chapel they have on-site as well.
Howey Mansion. The Howey Mansion is a historic estate with beautiful architecture and design. We love this venue for all the photo opportunities.
