Hiring the right wedding venue is so important on your wedding day. The venue is the backdrop of every moment, every picture, and every memory.
It gives us great pleasure to introduce this week’s venue spotlight, Vanessa J. Wolf of Celebration Golf Club.
What did you do before you did this?
I was an event planner for a private club in the New England area.
How long would you say you have been doing what you do?
I have been working with weddings since 2015. It all started with an internship through Iowa State University at a local catering company. It was an offsite catering company and I greatly enjoyed the unique challenges that came along with working at different venues.
When and how did you get into the wedding industry?
I was shown the ropes of the wedding industry when I was a sophomore in college. I began an internship with an outside catering company.
How did your work evolve to get you to where you are today?
I gained most of my experience from the private club world. I worked at two private golf clubs in the Northeast before setting to Florida.
What is your favorite thing about what you do? What’s your WHY?
My favorite thing is when the client comes to me at the end of an event and they are overjoyed with everything. You are helping the client make a memory and having them choose you to be a part of it is an amazing feeling.
What makes you want to do this every day?
Event planning is my passion. Working with clients and having the opportunity to assist them with the event of their dreams is truly an honor.
What types of events do you specialize in?
We specialize in weddings, birthday parties, bridal and baby showers, graduation parties, board meetings, and so much more!
What makes your business stand out from others in your category?
We are located 15 minutes away from Walt Disney World! The town of Celebration is GORGEOUS, offering many photo opportunities for the couple’s big day!
Why do you think your business is successful?
We pride ourselves on providing a personal and professional experience from the initial site visit to the send-off!
Why do couples hire you?
Couples appreciate that I am upfront and honest about what to expect on their special day.
The best piece of advice for someone that just got engaged?
Sit down with your significant other and talk about what you two would like for your wedding. Once you have deiced on an idea or theme, talk about price and what you two can afford. Then start shopping for your vendors!
What current trends have you seen at weddings that you like the most?
Dogs and pets being involved in the ceremony. They make the ceremony experience so memorable! Let’s not forget the photo ops!
What do you think are the biggest misconceptions that people have about your venue category?
That venue representatives are like car salesmen. We are just sitting in the office waiting for walk-in site visits, especially for weddings. We love that you believe our venue is special enough to come tour! But, we take pride in making each site visit a custom experience based on your event’s specific needs. Most of us plan our site visits around client appointments, events, and other site visits. We want to be respectful of everyone’s time, so please make an appointment, we’d love to meet with you!
What are the most common questions you get asked by brides and/or grooms?
Do we offer golf discounts when booking a wedding? The answer is, “Of course!”
What is your best piece of advice for brides or grooms?
Be vocal and honest about both of your needs and wants for the special day. It is YOUR day!
