Have you been searching the internet and every wedding planning magazine you can get your hands on for the perfect chic geode wedding inspiration?
If you’re looking to be inspired, this shoot is nothing less than perfect for that role. Hear from Stephanie at Nova Imagery who put together this Chic Geode Wedding Inspiration shoot showcasing over ten different vendors!
What was the theme for the shoot?
The theme was blue geode.
Reasons for choosing the venue:
We actually chose the theme to compliment the Orlando Science Center.
Tell us the story and inspiration behind the chic geode wedding inspiration shoot.
The inspiration behind the shoot was the exhibit “ Our Planet” at the Orlando Science Center. The blue tones tied in really well with the aesthetic of the venue. We wanted to create something unique yet modern and contemporary.
The Details:
The styled shoot experience was beyond incredible. I sent our vendor team the mood board for the shoot and they all added their creativity and knowledge to make our vision come to life. Without them, it wouldn’t have turned out as breathtaking as it did!
Can you describe what you provided for the shoot?
I provided the photos/photography.
What would this look cost if a couple asked you to provide it for a wedding?
Wedding photography pricing varies, collections begin at $1999.
Hear from the vendors:
Orlando Science Center
We provided several of our event spaces, including Our Planet, FINFROCK Terrace, our Skybridge, and our parking garage. All of these spaces are used for different parts of weddings at the Orlando Science Center.
All our spaces offer such unique backdrops, we welcomed all of the vendors involved to enjoy our spaces and dress them up with beautiful floral, lighting, and beautiful bridal gowns!
Our Planet and FINFROCK Terrace are a part of our level 4 rental. Level 4 gives our clients access to the FINFROCK Terrace, Our Planet, and DinoDigs. Our rental fees vary depending on the day of the week and can range from $4800-$2800.
Definition Bridal
Definition Bridal provided gowns that are inspired by light, stars, and sparkle fabric. Gowns that have movement in the fabric with unique details. Our inspiration was the moon and the Orlando Science Center’s details. These looks would cost in a range of $1500-$4500.
Our DJ Rocks
Our DJ Rocks provided two cold spark machines and the cloud effect (dancing on a cloud)! All items are safe to use indoors and are wonderful additions to really get that wow factor in your photos and for your guests.
When we found out that the theme was chic geode, and we knew our services would be showcased in Our Planet, we wanted to create an ethereal feel to the styled shoot. By bringing in a cloud machine, we were able to soften the tone of those pictures. Our cold spark machines offered a more modern, chic edge to compliment the cloud machine, resulting in some incredible images!
Our Dancing on a Cloud feature starts at $400 and includes everything that’s needed, including an attendant to ensure the cloud flows evenly across the floor and gives the right effect. The Cold Spark machines start at $995+ for two, and our team will handle obtaining the necessary fire permits. We also provide everything that’s needed, including a trained technician to operate the sparks.
Blair Elizabeth Co.
Blair Elizabeth Co. created a highlight reel video of the event. I wanted to capture the other world feeling paired with the editorial feel of the styled shoot. I chose the music accordingly. My package pricing for wedding videos varies. But I start my pricing at $2,000.
JLB Papery Invitations
I provided an invitation suite, along with menus and table numbers. Since the invitation is usually the first glance a guest will get to an event, I wanted to set the tone and theme with this gorgeous blue agate/geode look. Invitations with RSVP’s and envelopes start around $7 per set, menus around $2 per, table numbers around $5 per.
Daisy Delights Events
Daisy Delights Events provided a dessert table. The mood board given to us by our amazing Coordinator was perfect and then they gave me free rein and allowed me to be creative which is always fun! This would cost between $150-200.
Anna Cakes
Anna Cakes provided a 4 tier fondant-covered wedding cake with a cracked open geode motif on the front side of the confection.
Our inspiration was simply that — a cracked open geode look. We replicated the aesthetic using rock candy and edible gold paint along the “rock” edge. To achieve the “ombré” effect, we started with a dark blue inside and gradually diluted the food coloring, fading out to clear along the outer rim.
The bottom tier was inspired by marbled stone. We used a navy and white base, kneaded together, to create the swirls of color. This cake would cost around $750 to replicate.
Dream Designs Florist
Dream Designs Florist provided a crescent-styled Bridal Bouquet that costs $375. The bouquet was designed to reflect the curvature of the planets and the unique phases of the moon. White majestic calla lilies provided an opportunity to reflect the orbits of the planets. Since callas have such a curved spathe they were ideal to create a dramatic elegance and elongate the bouquet to appear oval as if to represent the shape of the Milky Way. Phalaenopsis orchids were chosen for their magical moth-like look and pure bright white petals and a pop of golden yellow accent from the lip of the orchid. Dark blue satin streamers were attached to the wedding bouquet as a way to incorporate a flowy tail – as if from a comet as the bride moved or swayed.
Hair flowers cost $15+ for a single bloom. I cannot take credit for this as Liz from Lizupdos LLC surprised me with her creativity. I loved it. One bride had a dark blue delphinium in the side of her hairstyle and the other bride had a thin piece of gold-painted eucalyptus styled as a headband on the back of her updo. Liz also fashioned some dark blue delphinium earrings – can you believe it? It is amazing to work with such inspired and talented vendors!
Two Groom’s Boutonnieres, one modern calla lily with dark blue ribbon trim for $22.50 and one traditional white freesia with dark blue ribbon trim for $17.50. Lay Flats with a few loose blooms were provided for the detailed photo shots of the invitation and jewelry, for $25+.
We also provided ceremony flora. Since we staged the ceremony in front of the luminous moon I chose to fill clear glass vases with battery operated twinkle lights also known as “fairy lights to represent little stars in the vast night sky. Atop of the vases, flowers were added to form somewhat of a crescent beneath and on the sides of the moon and to “wrap around” and frame the couple…
The table centerpiece was used to emulate an eclipse and shadows of sorts. I selected dark blue, white and gold tones for the flowers and containers. The design had a lot of depth and drama. By using dark blue delphinium and small flower-filled cobalt blue and gold marbled accent vases we created a modern, moody dark tablescape. To create a full look on the table we repurposed one of the ceremony pieces to add volume and more color which was placed in between the smaller vases. Of course with photo shoots we tend to go heavy on floral. This would cost $450+ per table.
The cake was a work of art on its own. Flowers were provided for the cake and dessert table – we were able to repurpose the ceremony flowers for this area. Most cakes can be decorated starting at $75+.
Overall, I was inspired by the mood board provided to me by Stephanie at Nova Imagery. The mystic of the moon backdrop from the Orlando Science Center was definitely in the forefront of my mind when selecting the floral varieties. I needed it to be unique. Overall, the cost depends on the number of centerpieces required and the size of the wedding party. The starting investment for flora is $1000.Beauty By Mel G.
I offered onsite bridal makeup. I was inspired by the style of the overall look, wedding style/theme, dress, etc but most importantly the bride’s personality and what she felt comfortable with so I focus on giving her flawless skin that will look good on camera and in person also making her eyes stand out. This would cost $175 includes faux mink lashes, cream contour, and lipstick sample.
LizUpdos LLC
I offered on-site hair services. I am a freelance hairstylist specializing in Bridal. I was inspired by the dress and bride-to-be. I created a textured updo with soft pieces to frame her face nicely.
This would cost $185. Updos include prep of hair, padding, extension placement, and styling.
Marriage Material
Marriage Material offers rare vintage fine china which may be rented in one pattern for a full wedding as depicted in this photo (Lovelace by Crown Victoria). MM provided the fine china, crystal and colored stemware, napkins, and flatware in this photo.
Daisy of Daisy Delights assembled a gorgeous mood board that inspired my offerings. This shoot really was out of this world!
Each place setting rents for approximately $7-$8 depending upon your specific choices.
Dovetail Events LLC
I was the day-of coordinator on this shoot, so I provided assistance with set-up, keeping the vendors on schedule, and break down.
