Share with us when and how you met each other.
We met through mutual friends when we were both at LSU. Although we had hung out in a group setting multiple times, we didn’t really start to get to know each other until I asked him to pretend to be my boyfriend at a bar one night to help ward off a guy who wouldn’t take the hint that I wasn’t interested. After a week of calling each other fake boyfriend and girlfriend, we decided to go on a real date and really hit it off from there!
What are your favorite things to do together as a couple?
Going to the movies, attending concerts and comedy shows, and binge-watching Netflix with our fur babies.
How long were you together before getting engaged?
6 and a half years.
Did anybody help with the proposal?
Jeff let our friends know right before he was going to pop the question so they could have their phones ready!

We got engaged at Disney Springs at the Christmas Tree Trail. We were meeting some of our friends to go look at the Christmas trees, and I was wondering if he would pop the question that night. Jeff had been teasing me for weeks about when I would finally get my ring (I already knew he had it in the house), so when we arrived at Disney Springs, he showed me an empty ring box and said it wasn’t happening that night.
Admittedly, I was a little disappointed, but I decided to shake it off and enjoy the trees. As we were walking through the trail, Jeff asked which tree I wanted to take a picture with, and that I could only choose one. I chose the Frozen tree since Frozen is one of my absolute favorite Disney movies.
We posed in front of the tree while our friends took pictures, and then Jeff dropped to one knee and pulled out a DIFFERENT ring box with a secret compartment and the rest is history!
Who did you tell first that you were engaged?
My parents (even though they both knew it was going to happen!)

It’s a beautiful platinum 3-stone ring with a twisted band from Brilliant Earth!
What are you most excited about wedding planning?
Just coming up with the perfect celebration to enjoy with all of our friends and family!
When are you getting married, and what is your venue? Why did you choose that wedding venue?
1/30/2021 at the Historic Dubsdread Ballroom.
We both love Louisiana (that’s where we met!), and Dubsdread captures all of the elegant Southern charm that we miss about our favorite place!
