We love a great Savannah proposal story, don’t you? When we heard the details that went into their beautiful proposal, we knew that we wanted to feature Bridgette & Monique’s escape room marriage proposal story.
Share with us when and how you met each other.
Bridgette and Monique met on a dating site called HER. We cant say it was love at first sight, because when Monique ran across Bridgette’s picture she thought she had the look of a heartbreaker and refused to connect with her. After Bridgette’s picture kept scrolling across Monique’s page she decided to give in and swipe right. The conversation was slow online, so Bridgette decided to ask for Monique’s phone number. They had both decided they were not looking for a relationship, but a friendship. After a few months of talking, they decided to meet up for the first time at The Grove; located in Downtown Savannah.
What are your favorite things to do together as a couple?
One of our favorite hobbies is being able to travel, in the 3 years we have been together we have travelled to Miami, Atlanta, Cabo, Los Angeles, Bahamas, Tulum, Texas, Las Vegas and Tampa; just to name a few. We are also huge foodies and enjoy brunching on weekends. For date night activities we enjoy playing board games, paint n sips and catching up on reality love shows. During the week you can find us in the kitchen cooking and meal prepping; as well as taking care of our fur babies. Outside of spending time together, we really enjoy entertaining and hosting gatherings with family and friends at our home.
How long were you together before getting engaged?
2 years.
Did anyone help with the escape room marriage proposal?
Nelson Laporte Photography, Escape Room Savannah, close friends (Tenaya Farmer) and family.

One of our favorite past times is playing games, as Monique is extremely competitive. So Bridgette decided to plan the proposal at one of Monique’s favorite places “The Escape Room Savannah”. After weeks of planning and sneaking behind Monique’s back, making centerpieces, treat boxes, booking venues, gathering all of our close family and friends; the day had finally come for the proposal.
On August 7th, 2022, 3 days after Monique’s 35th Birthday, her sister and her best friend showed up to The Escape Room Savannah, with the intentions of playing a regular Escape Game. Little did Monique know, the object of the game was for her to find a empty ring box and after she escaped the room her soon to be fiancé would be waiting in the lobby with all their friends and family with a ring. The theme was Monique Escaping her singles, after we would all gather at one of our favorite restaurants for brunch and mimosas to celebrate the engagement and Monique’s birthday.
