It’s Spotlight Day! Where we introduce you to incredible Orlando wedding venues and vendors, and the stories behind their companies who help Wedding Venue Map couples have their best wedding day.
It gives us great pleasure to introduce Lisa & Justin Schaad from Moonlight Dance Studio.
When people ask “what do you do”, how do you answer?
Let’s make your wedding dance joyful & memorable!
For 13 years we’ve been teaching couples the perfect dance for their wedding!
My Husband & I will work with you to make sure your wedding dance is everything you’ve ever dreamed it would be. We will create a choreographed routine to go along with your music & style of choice, guide you through every step so that you and your partner look & feel your best!
Dancing together builds trust & strengthens your bond as a new couple.
When and how did you get into the wedding industry?
Sep. 2017, we had a studio we danced at, noticed in our group lesson as a couple + 16 more couples on the floor & as the wedding couple private was going on in the same room. We were discouraged as we noticed the couple being frustrated, with the lack of privacy, noise level &, etc.. My husband & I come to a place with all our values we give our wedding couples in dance lessons, a place wedding couples get one on one time with the instructor with no other distractions, so the wedding couple can focus, have fun, & build their relationship allowing for a deeper & stronger connection.
Nothing gives us greater satisfaction than designing/choreographing a wedding couple’s first dance, father and daughter dance, mother and son dance, or even wedding party dance; to make the special couple’s dream moment come true.
What motivates you to do this every day?
As wedding dance choreographers, as for our point of view on taking dance lessons before your wedding, Planning a wedding has its top priorities + the majority of the time, dance lessons are NOT included on that checklist. But, it has been one of the most regretted decisions that can truly be one of the most valuable activities during your wedding planning process. Over the past 13 years that we have been creating movements through love stories, the feedback that we receive from our clients +their guests is incredible & motivate us to give them as a couple a gift that will keep on giving, It’s an experience that they will remember for the rest of their lives.
What is the best compliment you have received from a client?
Moonlight Dance Studio choreographed our First Dance for our Wedding. They did an amazing job in pulling inspiration from two different styles of music to create a cohesive dance! They took the time to teach us each set all the while allowing our personalities to shine. We will definitely be back for more classes!

What are the most common questions you get asked by brides and/or grooms?
1.Should you practice your first dance?
Moonlight Dance Studio: We suggest starting your dance lessons 2-3 months ahead of your date. Most couples take 5-12 lessons and practice in between. Keep in mind that the week or two before the wedding is usually very hectic, so trying to cram in last-minute dance lessons can add stress to an already stressful situation
2.How do we choose our music? Moonlight Dance Studio: Make sure you both love the lyrics, the beat of the artist – there’s usually not a connection if only one of you is familiar with the song.
3.How long should your first dance be?
Moonlight Dance Studio: Many of the most popular first dance songs are over 3 to 4 minutes long. Although three minutes does not seem to be a long time when you are the only couple on the dance floor it can seem an eternity especially if you’re not properly prepared! The optimum time for a first dance should be 2-2:30 minutes long.
What is your best piece of advice for brides or grooms?
*For the first dance, choose a song that you love and one that speaks to the relationship between the bride and groom.
*Practice dancing to the song before the wedding. …
*If your wedding dress is long or has a train, bustle it so you don’t trip over it.
*Wear shoes that are comfortable for dancing, practice in your shoes in your lessons.
*Planning a wedding has its top priorities and the majority of the time, dance lessons are not included on that checklist. But, it has been one of the most regretted decisions and can truly be one of the most valuable activities during your wedding planning process.
Here is what some previous couples had to say…
“First off, amazing couple. They are so knowledgeable and great teachers. My fiancé and I aren’t great dancers and they were very patient with us. They were so kind and obviously amazing dancers that make it look so easy. The prices are incredible!! Their studio is clean and well taken care of.
Done by appointments but they accommodate your schedule if need be. You can tell they love what they do. They also do group dances and pretty much any type of dance style and routine you could ever think of. I am recommending them to all of my friends getting married soon as well.” – Mr. & Mrs.Dreem, Orlando Art Museum
“Simply the best. Justin & Lisa took us from not knowing even the basic steps to developing a complete choreographed dance routine for our wedding and did it all in just a few months lessons. The husband & wife instructions were very clear, easy to understand and our dance ended up wowing the crowd and giving us a memory that’ll last a lifetime. An absolute pleasure to work with, I’d recommend them to anyone looking for dance lessons! Highly recommended. 5 stars !” – Ashley & Mark L., Harmony Town Square
“WOW…..Our dance was a big hit at our wedding, it was what all our guest was talking about the whole night. As a bride, I’m so happy to have to find Moonlight Dance Studio at Wedding Expo in Orlando. Located in a small hometown, St. Cloud. It was the most fun part of our wedding planning! Small hometown studio, very clean, great married couple as the owners & ballroom teachers, we had 12 privates of one on one learning time.
It was a 2 1/2 hr drive from Longwood, but we looked & shopped around, but just meeting Lisa & Justin at the expo, & having our consultation at the studio, we knew it was worth it, the best investment we made out of all our wedding planning! Thank you so much!” – Mrs. Jessica S., The Secret Garden
