It’s Spotlight Day, where we introduce you to incredible Orlando wedding vendors and share the stories behind these companies who help Wedding Venue Map couples have their best wedding day.
Hiring the right wedding vendors is so important on your wedding day. The vendors help create the backdrop of every moment, every picture, and every memory. It gives us great pleasure to introduce this week’s vendor spotlight, Marianthy Troupos Mendez of Omarvelous Productions.
What does a typical day look like?
We actually teach full-time at Full Sail University so the majority of our days are giving lectures, doing labs and grading school work. Omar teaches in Show Production and I teach in Entertainment Business. Our students keep us busy throughout the day and our schedules interchange month to month. However, we still find time to stop what we’re doing and talk on the phone with couples or answer business-related emails. I spend most evenings writing up contracts and responding to any emails I didn’t get to earlier that day, so the business is definitely not neglected.
How long would you say you’ve been doing what you do today?
We’ve only been doing this since 2016, but it has really taken off! We wanted to provide something that wasn’t the norm within the event industry. We wanted to give couples an experience they can remember and share over and over again.
Can you tell us more about your team?
Our team really consists of just Omar and myself! Occasionally we’ll contract out a few assistants or videographers to help with Live Streaming and our Slow Motion Video Booth. It’s a small crew, but that’s all we really need to make things happen.
What is your favorite part of having this company?
I think our favorite part about having this company is just the fact that we get to help make and create amazing memories for couples. We had a Slow Motion Video Booth at our own wedding 4 years ago and I still watch it as much as I can. The laughter we help create during the reception is the most fun. And of course, the Live Streaming that we recently added is just icing on the cake because we can help bring this special day to loved ones virtually. You just genuinely feel like you’re playing a big role in helping make something that once wasn’t really possible, possible.
What kind of continuing learning do you do in your field?
I think the fact that we are instructors at a university helps us continue to stay relevant to what’s happening within the event industry. Our students also keep us hip ha. But most of our learning within the wedding industry comes from going to conferences like the Wedding MBA and networking events to hear about the latest trends. I’m not sure if it’s cliché, but we also have some favorite YouTubers who do amazing things in the event industry who share their knowledge on the type of equipment they like to use so we can assure our quality is some of the best.
How do you spend your time away from work?
Omar and I have been doing a lot of bike riding these days. We live 10 minutes from a trail and sometimes we’ll seek out other trails to ride within the Central Florida area. I enjoy going to the Winter Garden Farmers Market most Saturday mornings and then walking around Old Winter Garden. We also like to grill out most evenings and watch movies or documentaries.
What sort of budget should your clients have to work with you?
Our Live Streaming service is definitely reasonable, especially for the level of quality that we provide. We start around $500. We just want to make sure you can afford this service because we know it’s an important piece to the puzzle.
Our Slow Motion Video Booth is a little more costly than your traditional photo booth, however, we’re still on par with other Slow Motion Video Booths out there in the area. We start around $975 where you can have individual videos sent out to your guests immediately on the spot. For a little more we can add in a final edited video montage of the entire evening.
What is the most unique service/product you offer?
What we do in itself is already unique and different from most! Trust us when we say that if you had us at your wedding, your friends will have the time of their life and will be talking about it days after. Very few people have experienced a Slow Motion Booth before!
What makes your business stand out from others in your category?
We provide something much different than your traditional photo booth. We are interactive with the guests by getting to know them and provide ideas for their videos. We’re not the “set it and forget it” type.
Why do you think your business is successful?
We believe we are successful because we are only one of two or three companies within the Central Florida area that provide this service.
Tell us about your ideal client.
Our ideal client doesn’t want to do the traditional thing. They think outside the box. They are outgoing and energetic people. They want something fun and engaging for their guests. They know the cost will be worth it in the end because of the memories it will create.
What is your best piece of advice for someone that just got engaged?
Take your time! Do things how you want to do them…not how everyone else thinks or feels. It’s YOUR day. Don’t worry about what’s trending and do what you can afford. You’ll be happier in the end that you picked what you wanted.
The best piece of advice to reduce stress in the planning process.
I’m all for a long engagement for a couple of reasons… 1) To help you save up for what you want and 2) To help you stay sane in the planning of your big day. There are a lot of moving parts and pieces that it can be stressful to try to cram it all in within a few months. I don’t think there’s ever anything wrong with giving yourself at least a year and a half to get married. Who knows, you might have a stronger chance of getting the venue that you want as well!
What do you think your couples can do to combat nerves on the wedding day?
Maybe not everyone is a big fan of seeing their significant other before the ceremony, but I know for me personally it definitely calmed my nerves seeing Omar beforehand. It’s one less thing to have to worry about as far as being a blubbering mess in front of your guests.
Tell us some venues you enjoy working at and why.
The Citrus Club – The team there is super friendly and accommodating. They also have a beautiful ballroom with an amazing view of downtown Orlando.
Chapman Leonard Studios was a fun one! There’s so much you can do with that space. The bride & groom had a movie-themed wedding and even brought in a DeLorean. They projected their previously recorded ceremony from the Disney cruise on the video wall, which was an awesome feature.
Cypress Grove Estate House is a beautiful venue. The staff there are awesome and always very kind and accommodating.
Cielo Blu Barn was new to us, but when we went there last December, the owner, Dominic, was so helpful and down to earth. He was blown away by what we offered that he hung out with us for a bit so we definitely got to know him and his family-run business better.
Here is what some previous couples had to say…
“Our wedding guests had the BEST time with Omarvelous Production’s slow-motion photo/video booth. While they were a newer company on the scene, they acted with such professionalism and flexibility. They even had an instant replay monitor and a backdrop that fit my wedding colors. The end result was an amazing video that I still go back to every time I need a pick-me-up. They worked with me and gave me full reign to choose whatever music I wanted and allowed me to throw in my own props (shout out to my little T-Rex). Omarvelous did a great job at our wedding and I’m confident they will continue to grow and become a staple in the wedding industry in Florida.” – Sara & Adam, Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort
“Omar and Marianthy are THE best! They are such sweet, cool, fun, and talented people! I’m so happy we had them at our wedding! Not only is the finished product they produce awesome, but myself, my husband, and our guests had SO MUCH FUN not just doing the clips but then watching the instant replays! Everyone was dying laughing and wanting to jump in to do another. SO much fun! 💜” – Rose & Dean, Chapman Leonard Studios
“This was literally the best part of our wedding, aside from marrying each other! Our guests had so much fun with the slow-motion booth. This was certainly the hit of the night. The compilation video was perfect. I teared up watching it from remembering how much fun the night was. I highly recommend having Omarvelous at your wedding!!” – Arcadia & Colin, Up the Creek Farms
“Omarvelous Productions is a thrill to work with and we highly recommend this company to our couples or anyone looking for a unique & fun entertainment piece to have at their wedding or event. We love the concept of a slow-motion Photo Booth, it brings a whole other level of entertainment and excitement to your guests, and it is hilarious to watch back! Omar & Marianthy are a pleasure to work with and we can’t wait for future events together!” – Blue Ribbon Weddings

What a beautiful wedding photos, wonderful bride and groom. Only groomsmen could look better with teal green linen bow ties matching to bridesmaids dress.
