It gives us great pleasure to introduce this week’s venue spotlight, Bumby Grimm of BB By Bumby.
When people ask “what do you do?” how do you answer?
I photograph women to empower them and capture their natural beauty.
What did you do before you did this?
I started with wedding photography before I began boudoir photography.
When and how did you get in the wedding industry?
I started with weddings back in 2007. I was blackmailed by a friend to photograph her wedding and ever since then, I fell in love with weddings and taking photos of those special moments.
How long have you been doing what you do today?
I began shooting boudoir back in 2012.
How did your work evolve to get you to where you are today?
I did a lot of practicing poses in the mirror to see what would look great. I studied catalogs, magazine, really anything I could find to see which poses worked best for women of all curves.
What is your favorite thing about what you do? What’s your WHY?
I love making a woman feel empowered, beautiful, and sexy. I live for the moments when they are crying happy tears while saying, “oh my gosh, is that me?”
Tell us about your most memorable event so far and why it was.
I had a client in tears because she didn’t know she could look so beautiful.
What’s the best part of your job?
There is no better feeling in the world when our clients walk out with a totally different demeanor. I get clients who walk in slumped over and nervous, but when they leave they have their shoulders back and their heads held high. They are just smiling, flipping their hair back, and laughing. For us, that is the best part of what we do.
What motivates you to do this every day?
My clients are my motivation. They inspire me to work harder so, whenever they look at their images, they know how amazing they are.
What fun fact would people be surprised to learn about you?
I have a serious obsession with burgers and I would go to the ends of the earth to find the perfect one.
What is the best compliment you’ve received from your clients?
I get random messages from one of my clients that always puts a smile on my face. She will say that she was having a bad day and not feeling pretty, so she looked through her album and instantly felt better about herself.
How did you decide on the name of your company?
Our company is not only about boudoir because we do beauty sessions as well. I also wanted to include my name, so that is how I came up with BB By Bumby.
What is important for clients to know about your company before they book you?
All of our sessions come with a planning process along with full hair and makeup. We will sit down prior to your session to plan out your outfits and answer any questions you have for us.
What is the most unique service/product you offer?
We offer hair and makeup throughout your session and a custom designed album with a retro viewfinder.
What types of events do you specialize in?
Boudoir, beauty, weddings, engagements.
What makes your business stand out from others in your category?
We love bonding with our clients so they are completely comfortable from the beginning and they know exactly what to expect when they walk through the door the day of their session.

We go above and beyond to make sure our clients feel comfortable and confident leading into their session.
What does your most popular package include?
Our most popular package is our Beauty Package. It includes a full day of pampering along with some goodies for you and your significant other.
Tell us briefly about some of your package options. What is the price range for these packages?
We have mini-sessions all the way to the full experience. Our collections begin at $850 and are customized from there.

What are the most common questions you get asked by brides and/or grooms?
“How do I know what to bring?” Included in your package is a full planning session, so we will go over everything to make sure you have the best experience.
What is your best piece of advice for brides or grooms?
We strongly advise that our clients follow the prep guide that we provide and go through with them.
What current trends have you seen at weddings that personally like the most?
Bodysuits. I’m obsessed with the different ones they have out today.
What do you think are the biggest misconceptions that people have about your vendor category?
That you can Photoshop it. Yes, we can do that, but we like to focus on your true beauty and your beautiful features. Some of the parts you think are “bad” are really what make you unique!
