It’s Spotlight day, where we introduce you to Cyndi Shifrel of Orlando Wedding & Party Rentals and share the stories behind their company.
When people ask “what do you do?” how do you answer?
I help make events amazing and make one of the most important days of someone’s life less stressful.
What did you do before you did this?
Darrin was (and still is) a DJ with FunFactory Entertainment. Cyndi was a piano teacher.
How long would you say you have been doing what you do today?
Orlando Wedding & Party Rentals began in 2008 but Darrin, my husband and business partner, has been in the wedding industry for much longer. He started out, and still is, a DJ! The prototype for OWPR was actually a rental company for bounce houses, and now 12 years later, we’re serving clients all over Central Florida with tents, chairs, tables, and more!
What is your favorite thing about what you do? What’s your WHY?
Being able to make one of the most important days of someone’s life incredible and stress-free.
Tell us about your most memorable event so far and why it was.
It is impossible to pick one particular one but we love helping vendors and clients in a bind and pulling off the seemingly impossible.
What’s the best part of your job?
Working in this industry and the amazing vendors and clients that we are fortunate to work with.
What motivates you to do this every day?
We are obsessed with the pursuit of perfection and trying to make sure every event goes perfectly as if it were our own event.
What fun fact would people be surprised to learn about you?
I used to be a piano teacher!
What is the best compliment you’ve received from your clients?
The best compliment we can ever receive is how exceptional our customer service is and how beautiful our products are.
How did you decide on the name of your company?
We wanted something that said it all – what we do and where we do it.
What is important for clients to know about your company before they book you?
We are going to treat them like they are our family if we are fortunate to be able to work with them.
What is the most unique service/product you offer?
Throughout the year, we’re adding products to our inventory in response to the ever-changing trends, and also in response to what’s happening around us. We quickly added Hand Sanitizing Stations & Handwashing Stations to our inventory to help our vendors & clients maintain a safe environment for their guests.
What types of events do you specialize in?
Weddings, corporate, and social events.
What makes your business stand out from others in your category?
We make it so you don’t have to juggle a bunch of vendors for your rentals, and we provide lots of options so that your personality and design aesthetic can shine through!

Many are referred to us and feel comfortable with us because of that reason.

We’ve never strayed away from the reason we started Orlando Wedding & Party Rentals back in 2008: To make the rental process easier and more enjoyable. Our clients are in an exciting time of their lives, and our staff gives 110% every day to honor our that excitement and our customers’ expectations.

What are the most common questions you get asked by brides and/or grooms?
Price; are we allowed to adjust the counts of our rentals (especially in regards to tables and chairs); do we offer to put tents on reserve in case of bad weather.
What is your best piece of advice for someone that just got engaged?
I will scream this piece advice until the cows come home: hire a wedding planner! I promise that it’s worth the investment. Depending on the package you purchase, they’ll guide you through all of the best practices and handle any chaos on your wedding day.
What current trends have you seen at weddings that you personally like the most?
One trend I’ve been enjoying is muted color palettes. Lots of neutrals with maybe a pop of color here or there. The end result always looks so classy!
What do you think are the biggest misconceptions that people have about your vendor category?
That we’re *just* a chair or a table. Truth is, our rentals will live in your photo albums alongside your loved ones.
Name three unique venues that you enjoy working at and why.
Casa Feliz, The Balcony Orlando, and Art and History Museum – Maitland. Each venue has a unique architecture and incredible staff. They make our job that much more enjoyable by always being on top of their venue’s details and being flexible with our delivery schedules.
