It’s Spotlight day, where we introduce you to incredible Orlando wedding vendors and share the stories behind these companies who help Wedding Venue Map couples have their best wedding day.
Hiring the right wedding vendors is so important on your wedding day. The photographer captures all of the events of the day for you to have forever.
It gives us great pleasure to introduce this week’s venue spotlight, Rudy Montilla of Rudy & Marta Photography.
When people ask “what do you do?” how do you answer?
We hang out with couples and talk about stuff. We just happen to have a camera.
When and how did you get into the wedding industry?
We stumbled into it. A friend was getting married and asked if we could take pictures at her wedding. From that day on, we have loved photographing weddings.
How long would you say you’ve been doing what you do today?
We started back in 2010. Our business anniversary is 10/28.
How did your work evolve to get you to where you are today?
We went from classic traditional posing to what we do today. We realized that taking a relaxed approach to wedding photography and posing works best for the couple and for us.
What is your favorite thing about what you do? What’s your WHY?
The techy side of things. I’m a huge nerd, so I’m all about learning the ins and outs of the gear and software that we use.
Tell us about your most memorable event so far.
Our first destination wedding was in Puerto Rico. It was one of the most memorable events because it was a grand adventure with a post-wedding session around Old San Juan. We were without restraints on time and the only thing we had to worry about was daylight. It was awesome!
What’s the best part of your job?
Hearing how thankful couples are when they receive the images. It fills our hearts with so much joy that something that we created is loved.
What fun fact would people be interested to learn about you?
I never imagined that I would be doing this. It was never part of my “life plan.” It just happened, and I am forever grateful that it did.
How did you decide on the name of your company?
We decided early on that we wanted our brand to be more personal. We want comfort to be our main goal. That way, you’ll get to know us before even meeting us.
What is important for clients to know about your company before they book you?
We only accept a limited amount of weddings. After having a baby, we realized that we needed a little better work-life balance.
What is the most unique service/product you offer?
Together Sessions are a different spin on sessions overall.
What makes your business stand out from others in your category?
We don’t force you into crazy stuff, and we realize that we might not be a good fit for each other. If we’re not, then we’d refer you to someone who is. Photographers spend more time than any other vendor with a couple on their wedding day. I want to make sure we’re a good fit for each other.
Tell us about your favorite type of engaged couple.
I get the biggest smile when someone says they’re “awkward.” That, to me, means awesome photos.
Why do couples hire you?
Our relaxed approach to wedding photography. We also tend to be very sneaky when getting pictures throughout the wedding day. We’re known for the fly-on-the-wall approach to photography.
What does your most popular package include?
8 Hours
Two Photographers
A Together Session
And an Online Gallery with everything in it.
Tell us briefly about some of your package options. What is the price range for these packages?
Our packages range from $2899 to $4499. Most couples go with our $3399 Wedding Collection. It covers almost everything.
Why do you think your business is successful?
The realness of how we work. We’re honest. Most importantly, communication.
Rudy & Marta Photography shares some helpful information for engaged couples…..
What is the best piece of advice for brides or grooms?
Photography is one of the few things from your wedding day that increase in value over time. The amount you invest in photography is nothing compared to what people normally pay when they lose their images.
What current trends have you seen at weddings that personally like the most?
First looks! I love them. Also, a lot of traditional things are being removed from timelines. What’s even cooler is that there’s a lot more “personal time” that’s being put into weddings. Cake cuttings are private, receiving of gifts are done privately, etc. It’s so sweet that we get to be a part of these tender moments.
What do you think are the biggest misconceptions that people have about your vendor category?
I think the biggest misconception is that we make thousands of dollars for one day’s worth of work. We’re available throughout the entire wedding planning process to answer questions the couple might have. Our delivery of images takes 6-8 weeks because we comb through every detail to ensure the best photos possible. All that time is taken into consideration when setting our package prices.
Name three unique venues that you enjoy working at and why.
Paradise Cove – We love Paradise Cove because everything happens in one spot and it always looks different. You can really transform the venue when you have a solid idea of what you want.
Mission Inn – The beautiful thing about Mission Inn is that you have access to the entire property during your wedding day, so you can go anywhere for portraits.
Howey Mansion – Our love for Howey Mansion started the first time that we went to Mission Inn. We took a wrong turn and ended up here. With overgrown walls and hidden passages, we were elated when we found out that it had become a wedding venue.
What some of their previous couples had to say….
“Where do we begin?!? Rudy & Marta are truly the best of the best. From the moment that I met Rudy and Marta, I just knew they were the perfect vendor for us. They made sure we were always calm, but more than anything, they ensured we were having a fun time during a usually stressful time. Communication was available anytime, any day with extremely quick responses. They made sure that all of the detailed photos that were important to us were captured. The quality of their work is top-notch and they blew us away with the quality of their service. They were professional, but it felt like they were truly our friends. They made us feel so special on our day!” – Paulina, Casa Feliz
“Rudy and Marta were such a joy to work with. They were professional, prompt, personable, and on top of everything all day long. We have been to many wedding where it seemed like the photographers were always in the way because they were taking pictures and getting the shots but Rudy and Marta were amazing at getting every shot while not being noticed and we mean that as the highest compliment. We would 100% recommend Rudy and Marta to any couple searching for a photographer!” – Heather, Luxmore Estate
“Rudy & Marta are a powerhouse couple that literally leaves you breathless with their talent. My husband and I struggled with choosing the right photographer because I work in the industry and there are a lot of great options out there. HOWEVER, Rudy and Marta are, hands-down, the best decision we made while planning our wedding. They made everything so easy as if we were not even being photographed and the photos came out better than we could have ever imagined. Rudy and Marta truly exceeded our expectations and we are so happy they were able to be a part of our special day!” – Alycia, Paradise Cove
