It’s Spotlight day, where we introduce you to incredible Orlando wedding vendors & venues and share the stories behind these companies who help Wedding Venue Map couples have their best wedding day.
Hiring the right wedding venue is so important on your wedding day. The venue is the backdrop of every moment, every picture, and every memory.
It gives us great pleasure to introduce this week’s venue spotlight, Tori Carta of Museum of Arts & Sciences.
When people ask “what do you do?” how do you answer?
My title is Rental Manager; however, my priority is to make sure that any event at the museum is executed in a way that makes every client, vendor, couple, family member, and guest feel like they just had an amazing experience with people they care most about.
What did you do before you did this?
I was the Athletic Business Manager at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
When and how did you get into the wedding industry?
I have been in the industry for close to two years now. The event and wedding industry has always had a special place in my heart. I worked a handful of exciting athletic events in the past while at Embry-Riddle, and when the opportunity arose to transition to a new setting at the museum working full-time in the event industry, mainly focused on booking beautiful weddings, I couldn’t resist.
What is your favorite thing about what you do? What’s your WHY?
My WHY is the relationships I build with my clients and their families. Weddings involve so much time, effort, and money, that whatever I can do to help ease the process and be there to support in their planning stages is worth it. There are very few times in life where so many people come together to celebrate you, so it’s a blast when I’ve done my job and everyone, including the vendors behind the scenes, enjoy the experience.
Tell us about your most memorable event so far and why it was.
Two specifically come to mind. The first wedding I booked at the museum was such an incredible experience. I worked with an A-list team of vendors and the most gracious family who put their trust in me, even being a newbie, to provide a memorable day for everyone. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and the most amazing reaction from the bride’s father when he saw his daughter in her bridal gown for the first time.
The second involved a family who epitomized strength and positivity amidst many hardships along the wedding planning process. There were many times when I felt incredibly humbled by their courage. On the day of the wedding, it was like a radiant light of happiness followed the couple, their family, and friends in every moment. The vendors nailed the décor and to this day, I’m so happy our team could provide a venue to support such a meaningful wedding.
What motivates you to do this every day?
Love – is there anything more fulfilling?
What fun fact would people be surprised to learn about you?
I competed in the Jr. Olympics as a gymnast.
What is the best compliment you have received from your clients?
We are going to recommend your venue to others!
What is the most unique service/product you offer?
A great benefit at the museum is that we offer two very different venues to have your wedding in. Choose between the versatile and sophisticated spaces at the Cici & Hyatt Brown Museum of Art, home to the largest collection of Florida-themed oil and watercolor paintings in the world, or celebrate under the stars in the Planetarium or Train Station at the Museum of Arts & Sciences venue.
What types of events do you specialize in?
We specialize in corporate events, social functions, and all wedding-related celebrations.
What some of their previous couples had to say….
“The Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art is very special to our family for many different reasons! It was an option for our wedding location but we were not set on the idea, as we had never imagined getting married in a museum. The museum tells Florida history through beautiful works of art, and being a 6th generation Floridian myself and now married to the ultimate “Floridian,” we fell in love with the museum emphasizing all things Florida, to her moss-draped oaks and her beautiful ocean blues. Our minds were made up as soon as we met the museum’s event planner, Tori Carta. From the get-go, she was professional, all while pouring her love into our special day as if it was her own. Our family faced devastating trials and losses leading up to our wedding, leaving us weary and leaning more on Tori. Tori continued to not only pour herself into our wedding but into our family. Tori stood with us through the mix of overwhelming sadness and the joy of planning a wedding. Her commitment to us and our special day is a testimony to why you should consider getting married at the museum. Our wedding was absolute perfection made by the museum’s artwork, architecture, and the love poured into every detail.” – Madison
“We got married at the MOAS March 3rd and it was AMAZING. Tori was wonderful to work with, answering any questions we had, keeping us up-to-date throughout the planning months, and being there every step of the way from day one of checking out the venue to the day of coordinating everything to run perfectly. We did our ceremony in the Planetarium and Seth and the staff were awesome. They were so passionate and accommodating with every request we had. We had a Star Wars theme and Seth went above and beyond to make our ceremony unique and fun, everyone loved it. The museum itself is beautiful for a wedding. Our guests were able to go through the Root Family Museum during cocktail hour and we got to use the entire museum grounds for wedding pictures which was great. MOAS was our dream venue and we’re still getting complimented on how beautiful it was.” – Tabitha
“First of all, let me just say that this wedding was planned in four months, but looked like it took over a year of planning. The museum was absolutely incredible. Tori made my life so much easier and was always there to give advice, answers emails, and connect with all of our other vendors. The actual venue was beautiful and everything I had imagined. You can’t get a better space to get married than on a huge staircase surrounded by beautiful works of Florida art. Our wedding photos came out awesome because of the unique art exhibits and wonderful lighting throughout. I cannot express how happy I am with our wedding being at the Museum of Arts and Sciences. It was perfect and you will love this venue!” – Hannah
