We love a great Central Florida proposal story, don’t you? We connected with this couple at a local wedding show, we knew that we wanted to feature Angie & Justin’s marriage proposal with a giraffe.
Share with us when and how you met each other.
We met each other through a mutual friend! In January of 2020, she convinced me to go out on a date with him so we went to the movies. We talked the whole night till he had to go to work the next day. We spent the next couple of weeks getting to know each other and dating then the pandemic happened to we were forced to quarantine and really get to know each other so, at this point, you either determine if y’all are meant to be together or to never see each other again. 😉
I am from Brooklyn NY moved to NJ when I was 18. I had a handful of horrible relationships and just stayed single for a very long time. My parents moved to Florida and I went to visit them and help them move. I ended up finding a job as a school counselor here and moved with them. I met Justin 6 months later and 9 months later we got engaged and in 20 months we will be married.
What are your favorite things to do together as a couple?
We love to watch movies and go to car meets, go to the movies, and anything with food lol.
How long were you together before getting engaged?
9 months but in pandemic/quarantine life it’s like 4 years lol
Did anyone help with the marriage proposal with a giraffe?
Yes my mom and best friend coordinated the whole zoom meeting and my family was there to help distract me while feeding the giraffe so he can propose
Share your marriage proposal story…
I love animals, especially giraffes. Since lots of things are closed and we are limited to going places, we all decided as a family to go to Wild Florida for the drive-through safari. When we got to the giraffe feeding, I was feeding them and he was handing me lettuce.
Then, as I went to get the last piece of lettuce, he was on one knee saying the proposal that Monica and Chandler used on Friends, which is my favorite tv show of all time.
My mom, dad, and his mom had their phones out but I just thought they were filming me feed the giraffes as I was doing the same! But after the proposal, I was told to wave at the cameras as this whole thing was on zoom so 25 of my closest family and friends can witness it live.
What was the best moment of the proposal?
That I snatched the lettuce from him to feed the giraffe and didn’t notice he was on one knee I thought he had dropped lettuce on the floor.
Who did you tell that you were engaged first?
It was on zoom so 25 people saw it live!

I always wanted a rose gold princess cut and that’s just what I got!
What are you most excited about wedding planning?
Everything! I have been planning this for my whole life.

July 16, 2021, at the Hilton in Melbourne Beach, Florida
Why did you choose that venue?
It’s by the beach and we always go to that beach to relax and watch the sunrise
