We love a great Melbourne proposal story, don’t you? When we saw these gorgeous photos, we knew that we wanted to feature Leah & Wesley’s sunset marriage proposal on the river.
Share with us when and how you met each other.
We met 6 1/2 years ago in college through mutual friends. She initially refused to speak to me because she didn’t want to be “set up” with someone. Once we all went to the mall, I finally broke the ice by asking her opinion of a tank top I was trying on from American Eagle.
What are your favorite things to do together as a couple?
We are both adventurous and are currently starting a new one by moving from Maryland to Florida. We compliment each other in many different areas allowing us to maximize each other’s potential.
How did you know your partner was the one?
Although Leah initially played hard to get, it was clear early on that we were perfect for each other. Throughout changes in schools, friends, work, and life in general, we were always there for each other.
Share your sunset marriage proposal on the river story…
It is nearly impossible to surprise my fiancée, Leah. I booked an undercover photographer (Haleigh Nicole Photography) 4 weeks before popping the question. She helped me make the surprise perfect by assisting me with all the details to timing it at a waterfront restaurant, Frigate’s, during sunset. Less than 10 minutes before our scheduled time, Leah went to the exact location by the dock I was planning on asking her because she thought she saw something in the water! After stealing a quote from one of her favorite movies, I dropped to one knee, and the rest is history!
Tell us about the ring!
A few years ago Leah had found the ring on Pinterest and fell in love with it. It was the most beautiful ring she had seen, unique, and had two small bands with a thicker band in the middle of the two that resemble husband, God, and wife. The setting is a 14K White Gold Round Diamond Double Halo Engagement Ring made up of 108 accent diamonds with a weight of 1.26 cts. Plus a 1.5 ct. center stone round brilliant diamond with an ideal cut and excellent polish and symmetry. The phrase aLWays & forever was engraved inside to emphasize our eternal love for each other as well as highlight our initials L & W.
What are you most excited about wedding planning?
Even before we met, Leah has had her dream wedding plans started and has continued perfecting her detailed plans during the past few years. I am so excited to assist her in planning our wedding since this is everything she has ever wanted. I can’t wait to make everything perfect for our special day and watching her enjoy every moment of it!
Congratulations Leah & Wesley on your sunset marriage proposal on the river!
