Christian and JD celebrated their waterfront wedding on a boat!

When we saw their amazing images from Pixel Groves, we couldn’t wait to share all the special details of their special and unique day.

Bringing the couple’s vision to life with the services provided

Christian called me and wanted someone comfortable shooting photos and riding out on a boat. She wanted her photos to capture the real, candid moments from their day and all of the emotions that went along with it.

After speaking with her about how the boats were going to launch and how we were going to get her from one boat to another, we decided that it would be best to get two of our photographers out, so we could have one on her boat and one on his boat.

The favorite detail that was unique to the couple included in their waterfront wedding

I loved that they incorporated their love of boating and being on the water. This was the first time I’ve shot a wedding on a boat, and it felt so authentic to me. It really spoke to who they are as a couple.

The roadmap for working with the couple

Christian filled out the get in touch form on our website. I reached out to her within an hour of the inquiry coming in (we always try to reach out as quickly as possible!). Because this was a non-traditional wedding, she knew that she wouldn’t need a full 6 or 8-hour package, but she wasn’t sure exactly how much time she would need.

So, we hopped on a call together and chatted through her vision. We landed on a 3-hour photo package, which would give us enough time to cover everyone launching their boats, the ride out to the ceremony island, couples’ photos, and photos of friends and family after, and the ride back!

She put down a 20% deposit to reserve the date, and the remainder of the payment wasn’t due until 2 weeks before the wedding. We chatted a few times leading up to the wedding to make sure the timeline made sense and that we were on the same page with her vision!

Once the day started, we had an absolute blast with both Christian and JD. After the wedding, we jumped right into editing. We delivered a beautiful digital album of photos to the couple, and they were able to download any or all of the high-res images. There is also a store attached to every gallery we deliver, so they can easily order prints if they want!

Wedding planning or marriage advice for other couples planning their day

When choosing a photographer for your big day, make sure to find someone who can match your vibe and really align themselves with your vision for your photos. Ask your team what kind of experience they have, so you can make sure that they can capture what you’re looking for. And share as much inspiration as you can, it’s so helpful to your photography team!

Review from the couple

Wow. Thank you guys again, SO much. We had such an amazing time. Y’all were wonderful. Every moment, every angle – captured forever.
