It gives us great pleasure to introduce this week’s vendor spotlight, Giselle Grande of John Michael Events.
When people ask “what do you do?” how do you answer?
We are full-service caterers and wedding planners. We assist with planning all the details of your wedding, from the menu to your linen colors, table setups, and décor. With our all-inclusive packages, we assist with setting up your vendor meetings and making sure you are all set for the big day!
What is your favorite thing about what you do? What’s your WHY?
I personally love working with a client from the very beginning of the planning process until their big day! This time can be so stressful for the couple, so I love to assist in any way that I can to alleviate some of that stress and let them enjoy the fun things about planning.
What motivates you to do this every day?
Working with people has always been a passion of mine. In the wedding and event industry, we’re working closely with one another, getting to know each other, assisting however possible to help clients plan one of the most important events of their lives. I love it!
What is important for clients to know about your company before they book you?
We have an upfront philosophy with our clients. All our packages and pricing are displayed on our website and sent to the client on initial inquiry. If there are any add-ons or upcharges incurred, we make sure to let the client know right away. If clients are unsure about anything listed on our packages, we are happy to explain in further detail to assure the client is comfortable with the package and the company they are booking.
What types of events do you specialize in?
Our specialty is in weddings, but we are able to cater or plan any kind of events. We love themed events and adding some extra fun décor and costumes to our staff and setups!
Tell us about your favorite type of engaged couple.
Our favorite type of engaged couples are the ones who have a vision and know exactly what they want. While we are always happy to assist in creating a vision, we love when couples have a vision of their own and we can help bring it to life!
What does your most popular package include?
Our most popular package is our JM Wedding Buffet Package. It comes included with butler passed hors d’oeuvres for cocktail hour, a full menu with three entrees (chicken or fish, pasta, and a chef-carved meat), salad, sides, and our delicious rolls. We also include a linen package, guest table setup package, buffet setups, bar/beverage setups, coffee station, staffing, sweetheart service and setups, cake service, and complimentary vendor meals under one package price.
Tell us briefly about some of your package options. What is the price range for these packages?
We offer a variety of packages to include buffet, plated, and station style menus for weddings, social events, and corporate events. Our lowest wedding catering package starts at $26pp++ for our simple buffet package, followed by the JM Wedding buffet package at $46pp++, and up to $59pp++ for our JM wedding stations and plated packages. The social and corporate menus start at $11pp++ for our butler-passed only menu, followed by the popular buffet package at $19pp++ and our new station’s package at $24pp++. We are also always willing to create a custom menu for any event to best suit the client’s needs.

“I LOVE JOHN MICHAEL CATERING! Our venue had a list of caterers we could pick from and I eliminated quite a few cause I didn’t want BBQ (white dress and BBQ sauce doesn’t end well for me). So we began our research on each company. I liked JM for their prices, but I loved them for their responsiveness. Giselle Grande was an absolute pleasure to work with! She always responded promptly and would often go out of her way to check with the owner on things for me. We had a few food allergies in our party and they were very accommodating. Their service is amazing and what they provide is unbelievable. Now onto the food- our guests LOVED our food… and you don’t typically hear about good from our wedding. We loved the flank steak and the parmesan panko crusted chicken. I also loved how the bride and groom were given a doggie box to take home with them in case we weren’t able to enjoy our meal with our guests that night.
