We love a great Disney World marriage proposal, don’t you? When we heard that the happiest place on earth somehow got even happier for this couple, we knew that we wanted to feature Krystal & Jeremy’s magical story with our readers.

Share with us when and how you met each other.
Jeremy and I met during his last semester of college in Chicago in our Ethics of a Good Life class. We didn’t talk to one another until maybe the second or third week of class but I do remember always smiling at each another over how ridiculous our teacher was.
The elevators at our school were not super great and could only fit maybe 4 people in them. One day after class, we were both walking out to get in line for the elevators when we just looked at each other and laughed; there was no way we were going to wait for that line.

We headed to the stairwell, laughing about how awful the elevators were, and started to talk about each other’s majors. Once I heard he was interested in sports broadcasting we hit it off, as I was a sports management student. Since we went to college in the city, we had to walk a couple of blocks to get to the next building so we chatted the whole way.
As we walked and talked together, we started to realize we had a lot in common. By the time we got to the next building, I realized Jeremy and I were still talking. He walked me to my next class and before departing ways, we exchanged numbers. I only gave him my number so I could recruit him for the sports marketing club.

I remember texting my friend’s group chat right away about how I was just talking to some cute guy and got his number. It wasn’t until much later in our relationship that I found out, Jeremy didn’t even have a class in the building we walked to, he just wanted to continue to talk to me.
Over the next couple of months we became closer friends. We found ourselves always texting each other about something class-related but then finding a way to continue the conversation. As the months went on, I could tell he liked me more than just a friend and started to see a future with this amazing guy.

When the school year was about to wrap up, we went on our first date near campus. At the time, I didn’t think it was an actual date but Jeremy argues otherwise. I remember leaving lunch and texting my friends about how I talked too much but Jeremy says I didn’t. From that point, we have been inseparable.
What began as strangers smiling at each other on the first day of class turned into an almost 7-year relationship and now planning our Happily Ever After! Even though we did not love the class we were in, we will always be thankful we had to take that class, and even more thankful that we had an awful elevator system at our school.

What are your favorite things to do together as a couple?
We love to travel together. I think we are always in the mix of planning a trip. We love to see new places we haven’t been before, typically we like to plan a lot of our trips so we can see one of our favorite sports teams! We love going to the movies. We are big movie people; there is something special about seeing a new movie in theaters.
We both enjoy fitness in different ways. Jeremy spends his time training for marathons. I ran one and knew that particular fitness lifestyle wasn’t for me but I love being able to cheer him on and show the world how proud I am of him! We are also a very big Disney World couple. Beyond traveling for sports teams, there is and always will be a Disney trip on the horizon for us!
How long were you together before getting engaged?
We will have been together 7 years on May 22!
Did anyone help with the Disney World marriage proposal?
We got engaged in December of 2021 at Walt Disney World! If you know us, you know this proposal was very on-brand.
We planned this trip with my parents. My parents are divorced, so it was special because we were able to spend the first half of the trip with my mom and stepdad and the second half of the trip with my dad. There was never a moment that I knew he was going to propose, he couldn’t have planned it better.

The morning of the proposal, we spent the morning like any other morning getting ready for Magic Kingdom. We had a plan to go to Magic Kingdom at a certain time but the timeline was not working for us.
We got behind in the morning because the lines to Magic Kingdom were longer than usual and then had even more delays when the Uber canceled on us. I felt like we were never going to get to Magic Kingdom! And anyone that knows me, knows that I don’t mess around when it comes to my time in Disney!
We finally made our way in and walked through Main Street U.S.A. I was ready to get on rides and start our day. What I didn’t realize as we were walking through Magic Kingdom, is that Jeremy was looking for the photographer he had hired to capture the moment. We spent a good 20 minutes walking around and “taking pictures”.

I was confused at this point because it isn’t like us to not immediately make our way to Space Mountain. After we spent so much time stalling, I remember texting my best friend saying something seems off. Of course, she knew the whole plan and was playing it off. Finally, we got to the photo location and Jeremy suggested some guy to take our photo. I said, “sure” and gave him my phone.
At that point, Jeremy got quiet, and once you get to know Jeremy you’ll learn that he is never quiet. I turned to him thinking the photos were done and that’s when Jeremy went down on one knee. We have spent years talking about our future and what we wanted out of life together and in that moment we both knew everything we talked and dreamt of was finally about to happen!
At that moment, all that mattered was us, our future, and our love for one another. We couldn’t have been happier!

What was the best moment of the proposal?
Seeing the smile on Jeremy’s face when I said yes!
Who did you tell that you were engaged first?
I called my best friend Caroline, who is now my MOH (maid of honor)!
Tell us about the ring!
Jeremy did so great! He got me a cushion cut with a hidden halo on a solitaire band.

What are you most excited about wedding planning?
I plan events for my career so being able to plan something with such a bigger personal meaning behind it has been special. Even before we got engaged, we knew we wanted a smaller destination wedding. Our planners at Just Marry have been incredible to work with and have been the process so easy for us.
I truly love diving into the little details of everything. There of course is a big picture, but being able to dive into little details to make sure we have the most special day for us and also have it be a moment in time our friends and family can enjoy just has been so special. We really like to hone in on details that are unique and different but also have a personal touch to our relationship and us as people.
If you’ve already decided, when are you getting married and what is your venue?
We wanted a venue that speaks for itself and takes your breathe away the second you walk in. The floor to ceiling windows, the aspect of being able to see every Disney park in each corner of the venue is something so special and so unique. The second I saw this location, I knew I wanted our special day to be celebrated60 here!
We are expecting 60-70 guests.
When we went into the process and wanted to pick a venue that needed minimal décor because we wanted to hone in our budget on special experience for us and our family instead of typical wedding expense that can get out of hand pretty quickly sometimes.
What’s your wedding style?
Classy and elegant! I wanted to make sure 30 years from now when we look back, the items and themes we choose could still be used. We want ever detail to be timeliness.
Have you selected any other vendors for your wedding?
Is there anything else you’d like to share with Wedding Venue Map readers?
Pick things and make your decisions that always feel authentic for you and your partner. A lot of people tend to over share their opinions about your special day and as much as you appreciate it, make sure your final decisions come down to what you want your day to be.
Your wedding day is a day to celebrate your relationship and that day should be just as authentic to yourself as anything else in your life. Also, it is okay to always be excited about your day! There is a lot of sound that happens during the wedding process and sometimes that takes away the meaning behind your special day.
Always remember, that as stressful as it may get, don’t forget what the day is about. It’s about you and your partner and truly celebrating the next chapter in life together!
