It gives us great pleasure to introduce this week’s vendor spotlight, Jeff Verschage of White Rose Entertainment.
When people ask “what do you do?” how do you answer?
I get to party for a living. 😉
How long would you say you’ve been doing what you do today?
Since I abandoned the cold, snowy weather of New York and moved to sunny Florida in 1998.
How did your work evolve to get you to where you are today?
In NY Jeff started off DJing at a local radio station, which turned into DJing Corporate Events and then those clients started asking for him to DJ their weddings. His first 1,000 weddings were done up North before be moved down to Orlando. White Rose Entertainment is now coming up on 7,000 wedding here in the area.
What is your favorite thing about what you do? What’s your WHY?
Finding that RIGHT song to make the crowd surge & keeping a packed dance floor all night long.
Tell us about your most memorable event so far and why it was.
On my 25th anniversary of DJing, I was flown out to Los Cabos, Mexico to DJ a 5,000-person banquet. We had to send a recorded mix ahead of time so they could choreograph a fireworks display to our performance.
What’s the best part of your job?
Giving our clients a personal touch by sharing my experience and educating while giving them multiple choices for how they want each detail of their day to be handled. I like to offer the one-of-a-kind event that clients aren’t able to receive anywhere else.
What motivates you to do this every day?
Our DJs are happiest when they are in front of a packed dance floor. As a company we make this easier for them since they were hand selected to be on that specific wedding based on the musical strengths. This allows the event to be the success that our reviews rave about.
What fun fact would people be surprised to learn about you?
A fun fact… well how about break dancing, sky diving, or downhill ski instructor?

How did you decide on the name of your company?
The White Rose Entertainment name came from a fraternity’s formal event…which stood for a balance of elegance & fun, which has always been the company’s cornerstone.
What is important for clients to know about your company before they book you?
We have learned to ask the right questions. We have created a reception blueprint that helps us understand your specific expectations and vision. We want to make you happy and the best way to do that is by asking the right questions. After planning the details of your event and creating your music profile, we will understand what you picture for your big day.
What is the most unique service/product you offer?
Our Music Profile system. This allows us to quickly go through 39 categories of music with our couples so we understand what kind of music they do and don’t like. This way our couples never have to do hours of music research or make a list of songs they think will be popular on their wedding day.
What types of events do you specialize in?
Mainly weddings, but also social events as well as corporate.
What makes your business stand out from others in your category?
One DJ can’t be good at everything and one person can’t stand in two places at once. That’s why we always use a two person DJ/MC team that is specifically matched to your needs. We have a diverse team of DJs (bilingual, male/female, variety of ages), experienced in Latin, R&B, Hip-Hop, EDM, Country, Top-40, Caribbean, Indian, Oldies and so much more.

Because we have such a diverse staff, we welcome all styles of brides and grooms. Ideally, we want to work with the couples who are madly in love with each other, have a vision for their wedding and are passionate about music!

Because we make them feel comfortable with the fact that we will handle their day with the level of service they are searching for. We ask the right questions to ensure everything is tailored to the way the couple wants.
What does your most popular package include?
DJ services for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Reception includes our DJ & MC, a two-person team. Plus all the details before the event, including building your schedule and the music profile.

Why do you think your business is successful?
We complete a blueprint with each couple to truly customize every detail of their ceremony and reception. With over 25 years of experience, we can offer choices and options for any challenge. Each couple is unique and we use their style and preferences to create an effortless flow and seamless transitions for their reception.
What are the most common questions you get asked by brides and/or grooms?
“What’s included in your packages? What do I need for my event?”
What is your best piece of advice for brides or grooms?
Have conversations with your vendors to find out what is really included in their price and what makes them different from other companies.
Also, there are tons of details your DJ should not decide for you: how do you want to be introduced, how long do you want your first dance to play, what music is acceptable during dance time, etc.? Have a discussion with your DJ and don’t let them guess the day of!
What do you think are the biggest misconceptions that people have about your vendor category?
The biggest misconception is that “DJ companies are there just to play the music”. A professional wedding DJ company will also MC your event and make sure the flow of your reception has a continuous pace with each detail exactly the way you envision.
Name three unique venues that you enjoy working at and why.
Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress – It’s a beautiful venue with a variety of locations to hold ceremony, cocktail, and reception. The pillars in La Coquina are stunning with up lighting and the windows allow the perfect sunset to happen during dinner. We also love working with the staff and how they consider us a part of their team.
Luxmore Grande Estate – The Luxmore staff go above and beyond to accommodate their couples. We consider the Luxmore team a part of our family and we work as one to make our couples’ day run flawlessly. At the Luxmore, we setup right on the edge of the dance floor to help really elevate the party experience.
Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate – The Omni has it all: waterfall backdrops, an elegant fire showpiece, and now they offer a brand new ballroom built with weddings in mind and decorated with stunning chandeliers. The ceremony and cocktail hour locations are conveniently located to make it ideal for both guests and vendors. To put the cherry on top, the food is top-notch and the staff is always very accommodating.
