We’re excited to share all about another one of our amazing Central Florida wedding networking events. This one was for Spring 2023, 0ur Percolate and Navigate coffee networking event was one of many Wedding Venue Map events for our members to build stronger relationships and get to know each other. This central Florida wedding networking event at MetroWest Golf Club gave new and continued members a chance to get reacquainted with this warm, inviting and special venue. It also provided the opportunity for a few of our members to sponsor the event and showcase unique services.
It’s always amazing when the community of people, co-workers, and companies that are the wedding industry come together. The concept of having a two hour event, without a meal, gives everyone ample time to spend making good quality connections and not losing a whole hour just sitting for a meal. Generally held in the mornings, from 10-noon, these events allow people to make connections and then get on with their day.
The best part was the people!
I recently attended another event for wedding and event professionals and as an introvert, it was very awkward. Everyone interacted with their group of friends and was not very open to the new people in attendance. I, fortunately, made 2 wonderful connections and I would say the night was a success in that regard, but I was very nervous about attending this event. And when I heard it was laid back without an agenda, I really thought I was done for! BUT everyone was so welcoming and easy to talk to, I stayed the entire time and truly enjoyed meeting everyone. – Deanna from Deanna L Giron
Thank you to Joanna Moore Photography for getting the photos for us to share the fun and mingling from our Percolate and Navigate networking event at MetroWest Golf Club.
While Scott King from King Entertainment Events LLC was creating our relaxed coffeehouse vibe, he did take a moment or two to wake up everyone attending with some fun, bouncing vibes. He certainly showed his versatility to keep an event fun and going!
First and foremost was the venue, MetroWest Golf Club. This contemporary and modern venue with warm wood woven throughout the building creates a unique venue. An event space that surrounds an open wood bar, dance floor and plenty of room for varied table settings. Windows abound and glass doors lead to the large balcony overlooking tee boxes and putting greens that roll onto vast fairways. A great location and plenty of options for events of most sizes, the venue is located just on the edge of Orlando.
Our team selected MetroWest Golf Club to reintroduce this venue and share their ability to hold intimate weddings, corporate events, private parties, and small business meetings which can all be arranged in this beautiful and fashionable setting that is both classic and timeless.
An epic event space enhanced by the gorgeous linens by Connie Duglin Linen. With the bright spring color of Apple Spandex the ground was set for a fresh spring event.
MetroWest Golf Club provided coffee and light bites for this morning’s Percolate and Navigate networking event. Our event attendees were comfortable and ready to mingle and network after having a good morning of scrumptious petite quiche, a savory guacamole on pita bread bites and an assortment of ripe and fresh spring fruit.
Of course there was a Coffee Bar for our Percolate part of the event, and that was the perfect compliment for our sweet cookie favors from The Cookie Jar Orlando.
Relationships run deep with wedding professionals. In-person wedding networking events like this one allow those people with a well-established relationship to catch up and allows others to make new connection
Networking Tips for Wedding Pros:
- Have a name badge and wear it. Some people tend to be visual and will remember what they saw, not what you said!
- Be prepared to strike up a conversation with those next to you in line for food or drinks. Where did they travel from? What brought them to the conference? Once you break the ice, things get a lot easier, and you’ll be surprised how much less intimidating these events can be once you’ve done it a few times.
- Walking into a networking event where you don’t know anyone can be nerve wracking. If you are worried that you will freeze up and waste the opportunity, consider recruiting some help. Approach one of the event organizers, introduce yourself, and ask for their advice. Who do they think you should meet? Would they mind making an introduction?
- Networking events can bring out the worst in your inner voice. “You are boring and no one will want to talk to you,” can play on repeat inside your head, lowering your confidence and making you feel like coming to the event was a mistake. Do your best to shut the inner critic off. Remind yourself that you have the credentials and the experience to be here, that many people find you interesting, and that everyone is far too busy with their own conversations to pay attention to your every move.
We love taking the time to be grateful for every single business, company, and wedding pro that invests in their partnership with Wedding Venue Map. This was just one of many events for our members to connect with each other, from events like this one, speed networking, to new map release events every January and July called Sip, See & Celebrate. If you missed this one, we hope to see you at the next one. Stay up to date on all upcoming events by checking our networking calendar!
