It gives us great pleasure to introduce this week’s venue spotlight, Wendy Goelz Kopasz of Soundwave Entertainment.
When people ask “what do you do?” how do you answer?
Soundwave Entertainment is a DJ and LED lighting design company in Orlando. We have been in business since 2001 and have some 4,000 weddings on our resume. We offer highly skilled DJs who are true music mixers, not button pushers. Our DJ team is also very strong on the microphone and pride themselves in being professional emcees. We also offer a photo booth and guitarist and we have an amazing Latin DJ, Ray Vales.
What did you do before you did this?
The owner Les Kopasz has been actively DJing since he was a teenager. He worked just about every major nightclub in Buffalo and Niagara Falls NY, was live on the air in Buffalo, and now heads up Soundwave, Orlando’s most award-winning DJ company.
When and how did you get into the wedding industry?
In 2001 we started our company in Orlando.
What’s the best part of your job?
People dancing and having a great time, and being wowed by our lighting!
What is your best piece of advice for brides or grooms?
Forget tradition! Do what YOU want at your wedding!
What current trends have you seen at weddings that you personally like the most?
Forgetting traditions and just having a party!
Name three unique venues that you enjoy working at and why
Bella Collina is the top venue that we love. We love it for the simple reason that NO OTHER VENUE in Orlando offers a slice of Tuscany! The moment you enter the gate, you enter Orlando’s Tuscany. Brides and grooms instantly fall in love with the setting, ceremony options, reception options, attention to details, amazing food, etc etc. Hands down, it’s awesome!
Next would be Four Seasons. This 5 diamond resort is world renowned for spectacular culinary, amazing staff, exquisite hotel, and amenities. Time and time again, weddings at the Four Seasons are perfection. Aside from all this, we love working at the Four Seasons because the staff is impeccable!
Paradise Cove is another one of our favorites because no other location in Orlando gives you the Key West feel with beach, lake, and tiki-style pavilion. It’s a perfect location for those clients looking for a beach vibe.
