Sheridan and Derek celebrated their charming spring wedding at The Grand Ol’ Barn in New Smyrna, a spacious wedding venue in Central Florida. When The Grand Ol’ Barn reached out to tell us about this beautiful wedding, we knew we had to share the inspiration with our readers!
How did you bring the couple’s vision to life with the services/products that you provided?
We are a vintage citrus packaging facility in the beach town of New Smyrna. We are a great destination wedding spot for couples who live in the busier cities in Florida, such as Orlando and Jacksonville. New Smyrna is about an hour drive from each location, and brings a great sense of local charm and adventure.
Choose a seat not a side, we’re all family once the knot is tied
We have a 13,000 square foot elegant, upscale barn. We offer three different ceremony spaces, both indoor and out (Just in case of rain, or heat couples can switch inside!)
We have a variety of different photo backgrounds built in around our venue such as indoor and outdoor swings, green walls, and 100 year old oak trees in our garden.
In addition, Sheridan and Derek utilized our very own catering service, florist, and wedding coordinator.
What was your favorite personal or design detail that was unique to the couple included in this wedding?
The couple had beautiful spring florals from our on-site florist Arrangements Floral Studio. They featured bright orange and yellow tones throughout their perfect day!
Tell me more about your roadmap working with this couple.
The couple booked almost a year prior April 2022. They are from Canada and brought a lot of elements from back home with them such as Canadian whiskey shots at the wedding!
They also brought in a local favorite, A New Smyrna Bomb, to toast to their new marriage and new beginnings! They had their little puppy walk with the bride down the aisle in her own bling leash as well.
Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?
Just have the most fun with it all!
You will only have the opportunity to do this together once so make the most of it, and be present in all the choices you make for the day together.
